Hey,

I am looking for the most accurate Panerai with a closed caseback.

Please help me choose and post your opinion or vote on the poll.

Is the PAM029 really that accurate?

I just heard something about this model a couple of days ago.

The PAM029 has the wrong type of movement, 2836 compared to a different 28xx Panerai use as a base for their OP movement. Closed caseback so not a huge deal but worth noting if you're serious about accuracy.

I own a PAM005M Noobfactory and it's perfect. Prefer it to the H, although people here in the know seem to claim the H is better.

In this particular order, COLDI?

Why do people think, that the H-Factory 005 is better? I took a look at the comparison thread and overall the Noobfactory seems to be the way to go.

I just ordered a 005M N Maker and a 000N H Maker
I will soon post the diffidence(if any) on the forum.

Most people complain that the N Maker's uncharged lums being too greenish for non-sandwich dial

Yeah my Noob is tinted slightly off white. Subjectively, my eyes put it at very very slightly green. If I had to use something to describe the colour I would just say milk though. The H Factory is a purer white apparently, but this is a gen:

And the H Factory looks brighter than that. Mine I would say is spot on to that. I picked the Noob based on Angus's review of the PAM111. With those two, the Noob is absolutely undeniably better due to its construction, and at the time that I bought, Noob was doing a better movement as well. I figured even if the dial was very slightly wrong, it would be better on the whole, but I think it's all just about lighting, so I chose based on what I thought looked better as a model. The choice was very easy for me. Noob all the way.

The new 237h is worth checking out, too. I don't know exactly how it stacks up against a gen, but it's incredible.

The best 005M IMHO would be as follows:

Nob/AP Factory - Case, Hands, Movement, Crown
H factory - Dial, Crystal, , Caseback, CG

There is also a rumor a new 005 is on the way (but we are talking rep time here ;) )

What makes you think, that the H-Factory crystal and dial is better than the Noobfactory's.

IMHO I believe the following moded 005 will be the best:

AP/Noob - Movement, Case, Hands, Crown
H Fac - Caseback, Dial, CG, Crystal
