We should dial back the speedy requests before it feels like we are asking people repeatedly to break their ceramic AP.

On topic - I would have preferred a couple of other Patek's Clean to have a go at, but they might branch out later.
Having movements with replacement parts available would be a big hit.
Yeah they might, they’re just going for the most profitable ones with the most demand. Let’s see what comes with time from Clean

Clean probably won't dig into that model, the movement is tricky
I disagree. It’s for about the same parts as a Daytona. It had already been cloned by ACE. But they are charging $6k for the movement alone.

The issue always is that if it’s not Rolex it’s not repped well. (The exception being the Sky Dweller)

That, plus 3KF quality control is just notoriously always complete dogshit. I'm very much a big fan of a number of their releases, but the QC process is far more painful with them than any other major factory I've dealt with.

3KF and PPF dials are all trash. Even when you spend $$$$ to go with Buff and SW parts you'll see datewheels that don't sit centered in the window, or you get drastically different lume intensities between the hands and dial. The current state of 5711 selections is not acceptable to me and I welcome Clean to take a shot.

I've seen some date wheels from Buffalo and SW not being in alignment at times. The PPF dials are okay for the price but 3KF dials are not.

Can confirm on the non-centered datewheel. I received my fully modded 5711 3kf base with Buff hands, dial, and SW datewheel this week and its bugging the heck out of me. Everything else is perfect but the datewheel alignment and I'm considering sending it to MajorWilliams to be fixed.

be aware that the 324 clone architecture is somewhat weak when it comes to the date change - this can cause some dates to not roll over with enough energy and thus appear misaligned. A modder who is familiar with the quirks of this otherwise work horse movement should be able to fix it though.

In some instances modifying the clamps that hold down the date disk can also be necessary once the stock date wheel is removed and exchanged.

If the dial is also switched: the distance between date disk and dial is crucial. This should be mitigated by the clamps and movement bridges themselves of course but some date disks come warped which results in irregular friction - hindering a smooth date change/alignment.

You see this issue has to be tackled from multiple points. Good QC is a base for this.

I believe there are different date wheels for Aquanaut and other 324 watches. Teeth are in different places.

If I wanted to fix my watch which is having this problem after I got a SW datewheel installed, what would the steps be?

negative

all 315/324/330 date disks are in fact the same for all watches housing said movements. Dials are the determining factor of appearance as their date cut out either comes with a separate frame (polished/blackened) or beveled stamped window.

Here is a recent photo from a sales post of genuine 324 date disks. Notice that the teeth are different, they are closer to the center of the number, while the one on the right is higher up.

Highly doubt that Patek would have such bad tolerances

The one on the right would line up with a 5711 dial/movement, the one on the left would not
