Clean factory plans to make 5711 and 5167

a few month ago Clean got access to the 324SC 3K has been using for years and is going to make a few Patek models at first.

I wonder if they'll be provide more of the same, or if they'll set the bar higher. I know they do good work on Rolex reps, interested to see if they can do something different/better with the 5711 in particular, or if they'll be another "also ran".

Clean can beat 3KF if they manage to focus and lazer down the details, for 5711 case shape and dial color, for 5167 lume color, dial finish and some case work

Only market will inspire. If the other factorys sell 200'000'000'000 pieces of speedmasters, there will be a clone movement of the omega movement soon

@derjenigewelcher That’s like the story of the dog trying to catch its own tail. Nobody’s going to sell a quadrillion watches with the current layout, but nobody’s making a good rep movement if it’s not seen as sought after.

It's like the chicken and the egg. As long as there are no proper Speedy Reps, people won't buy them ... except me, of course! I buy bad speed reps too, but unfortunately that hasn't impressed the factories so far ;-)

I am all for more competition here - hoping for a musical chairs effect here:

• Clean and 3k will be the dominant 5711 factories
• ZF/PPF to pull out of 5711s
• ZF/PPF to create the best VC 222 stainless-steel possible

I guess working on a Speedy Rep would be also okay for me

Would love a speedy rep with a clone movement. If we could get a DSOM at gen thickness I would be all over that!!

I do wonder why clean would go into 5711 so late to the party, wouldn’t it make more sense to do a 5811 and get ahead of the pack

In all seriousness tho I do hope that Clean bring some of their renowned Rolex quality to PP reps.

The issues with the 5711 are well known, if they could get the dial, hands, date wheel and end links right from the outset they would sell plenty.

Agreed. These are known issues and it would make sense for them to make the most of it, and bring out a good quality rep that really hits the mark.

I have a modded 5711 green dial, but I'd certainly be up for a good alternative in another dial colour without needing to drop $2-3k again.
