One thing I noticed so far is that I worry about the plating so much (this is my first plated rep) that it starts to piss me off. I really wonder how durable it will be.
My other plated watches are still pretty good FYI. Gold and RG, not the same factory or watch, but in general the plating I've gotten has been great.

That sounds good, how long have you had them? No significant damage? No fading or bad spots?

My RG Rolex Cellini is still perfect though, no fading or bad spots, the IWC bad spot is so minor, doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I bought those two around March 2020. So 2+ years still running perfectly, only thing they could use is some silencing.

I expect this new Rolex (thread topic) will last awhile, but I guess we’ll see, haven’t had any experience with CF. AFAIK the noob plating sucked based on other users posts and pictures here, but hopefully CF did a good job.

Anyone know how thick the plating is?

I spoke to Ryan from Trustytime and Li from Jtime both confirms 5 mm plating, so i guess will have to trust that.

^ you mean 5um? In engineering terms for surface finishing, thats barely anything at all.

Bro I wrote some tips for rep plated watches in another post:

Don't wear it while sweating
Don't wear it in high humidity
Don't swim with it - in fact don't get it wet
Don't get it dirty
Wipe it down after every use. I use Zeiss lens cleaner (non-alcoholic) and a Zeiss lens cloth (smoother than micro fiber)
Store it in a closed box away from the bathroom shower
Keep multiple packets of desiccant in the storage box. I have about a dozen packets in a box with 6 "gold" reps

And if you want go keep your beauty scratch free, put some protective film at least on the clasp

All mine are still pristine, some as much as 3 years old

Cheers

Anyone else considering replating their CF by Nikz19? I think I may go for it to improve durability…

I say wear it (buy stickers like Alvin above) and if it fades get it replated
Nikz told me it is impossible to replate once it fades, the pvd coating that is underneath will not work with electro plating.

Can anyone post their clasp photos for this model? I think my piece has a bad weld for the closing tongue, QC pics showed this and would like to compare whether this is how Clean does this, my Noobs all had clean weld here:

where is the bad weld on the closing tongue, can you circle it for me 😁 on order the same piece and i would also like to note this little flaw.
thanks men
