I think once you handle WG (rhodium) plating in person, it’s hard to unsee the difference. I was happy with my SS “WG” Daytonas until I got my first one WG (rhodium) plated. Now I want to get all of my watches that are supposed to be WG plated with rhodium.

can you explain this a bit more? are you taking your reps and having them plated with rhodium afterward or is there a factory that is selling them with the plating?

I'm still disappointed by the "0"s on the CF bezel ... I mean the go aaall the way to make so many details correct ... and then they (on purpose I assume?!) screw up all the "0"s on the bezel and make them much too "boxy" and not rounded like gen ... and that goes for all the CF Daytona modells with "gold" and "white gold" bezels ... sad ;{

And the big hole coronet ... is this a permanent thing or did they fix this in between?!
(On my "old" grey CF Daytona 116519LN the coronet actually also is quite "holely", but on my recently bought CF Chocotona 116515LN the coronet looks very fine.)

With those "imperfections" (even though it seems to be the most decent 116509 rep right now) ... I rather stay with my old "original" Noob 116509 ... which of course also has its flaws, but still looks great ;)

I was happy with my SS “WG” Daytonas until I got my first one WG (rhodium) plated. Now I want to get all of my watches that are supposed to be WG plated with rhodium.

Oh yeah, understandable and very interesting ... can you tell, where / by whom you had the plating done?

Alright, now looking forward to the upcoming Platona(s) from CF! 🤩🙏

Rhodium is not going to look like Rolex white gold. Its a white metal plating. And sure, jewelers plate white gold rings with Rhodium.

The Rolex white gold has a slightly bronze tone. It does not use Rhodium plate. It's solid color through and through.

But it looks better than SS (IMO). No rep PM looks like Rolex’s - YG, RG, WG, etc.

Side by side they're obvious, but under less blue light and more amber hue (I.e. most people's lights inside) stainless can look like WG. So whether it's worth it is definitely debatable.
I plated mine, and it’s epic. BTF but same idea.

Keeper for sure.
