Ok, this thread has pushed me over the top. I have a few questions.

I am wanting to build a Franken 116710ln with minimum Gen parts: Dial, Hands, date wheel, Crystal, Bezel and insert.

I still have a few questions.

1. Base watch Arf, Clean, or C+. Arf has the correct engraving between the lugs. The Clean and C+ do not have correct engraving. is that about it?

2. Which movement takes Gen parts easily: Clean is a VR3186 C+ vr3285 (but there has been some discussion that it is not that but a another) Arf uses a3186.

3. Movement upgrades what gen parts would should be added at a bare minimum?

4. Any other parts I might be overlooking.

5. Should I just monitor member sales for a franken?

Thank you all for your time.

I have used a Clean case, with rehaut polishing it looks almost indistinguishable to gen. Yes engraving is 126610 but since this watch is worn on bracelet it’s not an issue. Also you can be sure the Franken will not be sold as gen and that a good thing because damn it looks gen.
2. Which movement takes Gen parts easily: Clean is a VR3186 C+ vr3285 (but there has been some discussion that it is not that but a another) Arf uses a3186.
VR3186 is based on 3185 movement and will take gen parts.
3. Movement upgrades what gen parts would should be added at a bare minimum?
I have thought about gen parts in the movement but discussed with my watchmaker and he did a full service, no need for gen movement parts in my opinion.
4. Any other parts I might be overlooking.
Go for a gen crown as well, 150€ or so and will finish the build.
5. Should I just monitor member sales for a franken?
If you are able to source the gen parts for good price you can buy the parts, but probably will not be cheaper than looking for a nice build here in member sales. Saw some very nice Franken 116710LN sold in the last months!
Thank you all for your time.
You’re welcome

All rep 116710 parts will fit. Only with crystal gasket you have to use another one with 12 and 11 Cases from clean. Because they have different height (the gaskets). But all other parts work because VR movement is on a 3185 base in clean and will ONLY fit 116710 hands!! So no option to install 12 hands yet, so you are safe. Dial as well will fit of course since Moment is 31XX
Bezel and crown etc is no problem as well.

I have a clean case 736D case and fitted all 116710LN gen parts without problem!

An issue I see w/ the C+ & likely the CF 116710LN’s is the case seems to be the same as the 126710’s they made so will likely have the incorrect case engraving which is negligible BUT many also appear to have the wrong hands, using the 126710 hands (longer minute hand is easy to see)

Thank you for this information. not worried about engraving. the hands that is good to know. if I was not to franken would the arf be better ? As I have a line a on Gen 3510.50 speedy at a really good price.

Beauty watch
Am I correct in saying that the Clean V2 116710LN is STILL stamped 126710 but that the C+ already had this corrected?

Have been contemplating on the 116710LN for sometime and like TS said, there was simply no reviews around. I am so glad someone started this. Might just make me decide to pull the trigger!

Btw, i read in some other topics that the CF GMT has a shorter minute or gmt hand. Is that issue present with this LN example?
