I think if you did that with the 2.5, you'd achieve the same effect as you get with the 2.7 w/o any sanding.

Sorry to bump up a old thread but my Explorer has been in the watch box because I can't figure out the correct way of sanding the inner diameter of the bezel to get it to fit over the gasket.
What did you guys use to do this?
I would pick up a small set of needle files. Remember that you are starting with the bottom edge of the inner diameter - so the bezel will fit around the gasket and not smash down on it.
