Hi All: Just received the QC photos of my new B&R 'Military', for which I paid extra for the 2836 movement. Does the date wheel look too sunken or should it be that way. I'm no purist, but I do want it to look reasonable.

Looks a little sunken, but I wouldn't be able to tell for sure without a larger pick. Also, double check the back of the watch. A lot of dealers have been selling these with the incorrect model number engraved on the back, 03-97, when it should say 03-92.

See if I can get a bigger picture. Does that datewheel look too sunken? This is with a 2836 movement so could that have anything to do with it, if the datewheel seems too deep.

Even if you do think it is sunken, that's a function of the movement and case design so you won't find a non-sunken datewheel for this watch if that is the case.

Thanks for that, Bonesey. So the watch is on its way from Hont--complete with incorrect caseback that says '03-97' rather than '03-92'. That's all he could get, so I took it with the upgraded 2836 movement. The caseback thing isn't too big of a deal for me since that part will be against my wrist. It is annoying, though! Anyway, it should be arriving any day now! Hont has so far been great to work with: really quick communication and he certainly gave me the option not to accept the watch if the datewheel and caseback issue was too great for me to stomach.
