I have always been lucky living in NJ that most items go through JFK Customs..

I have a $1200 item sitting at Chicago customs since 9/5. Hopefully I see some movement by Monday.

Anyone else have a item sit for 5 days and then get released? I read 10 days = gone.

wish me luck.

Your wait time isn't extraordinary so I wouldn't worry yet.

I wouldn't worry yet, either. It was a holiday weekend. It's very likely they were backed up, closed, etc.. People tend to take off a couple days prior and after. They could be short staffed or something. I've had a few items sit in JFK and Chicago for a week or so. For some odd reason a crown/hev got stuck in customs at JFK for 4 weeks. It was hell..

Chicago ISC is terrible. They're always slow compared to SF of NY. Mine is in the same boat right now.

What watch and where did it ship from? I think packages from western countries get less scrutiny than China packages.

I have friends in the shipping business who just happened to be discussing this tonight.

A very recent shipper bankruptcy (Hanjin) is a potential factor. Goods on these ships "stranded" in port are marked as pending in Customs even though they have not even been offloaded.

http://www.joc.com/maritime-news/co...ppers-navigating-hanjin-fallout_20160907.html

Yes, I know this is Chicago and not a port facility that receives Hanjin ships directly, but my understanding is that the Chicago ISC sort facility is a pass thru so a package due to be processed in Chicago is logged "Chicago" - no matter what physical port of entry it may have originated from. My friends are in the shipping business, not Customs, but thats what they tell me.

Be aware that this situation may possibly affect other rep buyers who have items in transit.

Ughh..any updates? My package has been sitting in Chicago facility since 28th of September, should I be worried? Tracking shows "expected delivery on October 3rd" lol..which is 3 days ago but I have no movement on the tracking. My other order that I placed 10 days after this first one has already been delivered and also went through the Chicago facility....At what point shall I assume the package is seized and contact TD?

I got my whatever it was I ordered. I just don't recall how much longer I needed to wait. Things are moving very slow through ISC these days.

It stay for 2 weeks and finally arrived.

I would not worry unless you get a letter. I had a package sit in NYC customs for a month a few years ago. snow ever other day for 3 weeks caused the back up.

Was it a Franken?

I was gonna say I'm sure they aren't watch experts so they can't tell if it's a fake

Being held up in Chicago isn't unusual...at all.
I believe it's a crap shoot: I've had items both coming in and going out held up in Chicago for up to 22 days on occasion.
And to top it off, tracking didn't continue to track once released so I had no idea what to think or where it was.
Ultimately it arrived out of the blue one day and to this day tracking "still" shows the item held in Chicago. ( over 6 mos ago )
And being sent to with signature required delivery and signed for.
Hopefully this will ease your mind a bit :)
I hope everything works out well for you.

Some refreshing info here, thanks y'all for the feedback. Tracking still shows no movement from Chicago after 11 days but I will keep waiting for a little longer. At what point should I contact my TD about this?

When you get a letter from customs. Here's how my shipment went since I looked it up for another thread.
