Cheap Vietnam Rolex 16570 case!?

Hi guys,

Starting my own thread because i wanted to build a 16570 from the famous ebay case.

After reading from several threads we all know, there are some problems with that case.

Crownguards, lugholes and the least of all the problems, the finish.

So i contacted different dealers out of nowhere and after some time i found someone from Vietnam who can make , just anything!

Asked him for a 16570 case with personal engraving and he made it before so no problem he promised!

I paid $450 for the case with personal engraving.

Sorry, waiting for Parts tot arrive to complete the project.

For now i can say that a genuine Caseback Will fit the case.
You can not use a 24-5330 tube like the eBay case because they (Vietnam suppliers) use 3.00 x 3.0 threads.

That was a serious bummer because now i only could use a 24-602 Crown which is not correct...

After some reading i Found the solution,

You can use the new 24-6330 tube paired with a 603 (original 16570 Crown) or u can use a monoblock 604 Crown.

Next are the chamfers on the lugs, the cut is to much for a 16570.
You Will have to sand and polish it to genuine specs.
Not a big deal , it's not much you have to remove.


I will address these faults to the supplier.

Can't compare it to the ebay case yet but a few positive notes about the Vietnam case are.....

It is fully engraved, genuine parts fits like a glove.
No low lug holes like the ebay case.

So just looking at the price and possibilities, the cheap Vietnam case is a better platform to start imho.

Great build!

This looks like a BI viet case. I got one for my 16570 build.

Agreed with the finishing, but those are easy fixes. The bezel needs to be changed though. The stock one is too big and hangs over the case, unlike gen.

Here is mine with a gen dial, hands, and bezel

Only Mod needed was to open up the crown guards just a little bit. Other than that it was very straight forward.
