Hi all, I have just joined as I am looking to get a superclone at some point. I have a cheap Rolex Sub which was a gift bought in Thailand. I have had it around a year but never wear it because it doesn't hold time. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Can someone point me in the right direction at maybe replacing the movement etc. Never done anything like this but seeing as I don't wear it anyway thought I might give it a go

Thanks

When you say it doesn't "hold time", what exactly do you mean? Is it always too slow or too fast? How much time is it gaining/losing per day? Does it gain and lose time?

Not sure if this works to see the picture of the watch. Only one I have at the moment.

It’s been a while since I last wore it but pretty sure it was losing about 3 hours over a 24 hour period

Hello and WELCOME from the official RWI reception desk!

If you haven't already, please make sure to read all relevant sticky threads. They contain important and essential information such as the forum rules! Most importantly the sales rules, because you will NOT yet be eligible / allowed to sell unless you meet certain criteria / are certified first.

A good starting point is this list of resources on RWI:

Please also take another look at this important sticky that you should already have seen after logging on for the first time:

This quick anti-fraud guide is essential if you are about to order from a dealer for the first time:

If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact me or @Feefo!

We will gladly help, but please allow some time for PM responses as we have lifes outside of RWI!

When you would wear it, how many turns would you give the crown? It's best to wind it about 20 times before wearing, assuming you don't have it in a winder.

Since it only loses time, I would have the movement regulated. It's not difficult to do yourself. Being a "AAA" replica, I assume it's a 2813 movement.

I would give it quite a few turns I think I would have gone past 20.

How do I go about having the movement regulated? Is there a guide or anything to do this?

you can buy a timeographer for appx $120 which may be overkill for you at this point. Do a search for regulating watches with phone apps and they are free to $50.

That's probably three times what the watch is worth.

Your best bet is to read the forum and get yourself a much better watch.

eboy, that was some funny stuff there! And you’re right, A timegrapher would be some serious over kill for this watch.

You can get an app for your phone called Watch Accuracy Meter and use a microphone held next to the balance wheel to measure. Then take a small tool to adjust the lever on the balance regulator. A google search or youtube video can guide you through it.

It will work well enough for this watch.
