Anybody know if the stem can be swapped out with ETA stem? Is it just screwed up with loctite? any tips on swapping this out?

I think it is screwed in with a slight pinch of glue to keep it in place. I've never successfully pulled one apart. I've had one snap at the base of the crown and the base of the stem. thats it. I have a new stem and crown i need to try to trim down and screw into crown. I'm going to add a very small amount of super glue on the thread.

yeah thought so, I picked up a noob 360 on sale and as soon as I got it, I noticed some slipping, tried with different crown and its fine. the stem doesnt look worn out, is it because noob stems are slightly shorter compared to others?

Its not the "noob" Stem. its the movement. The stem for the 6497 is what it is, noob uses different movements for each watch. If it is slipping it might be something else causing your problem. The one I mentioned that "snapped" was from a Noob 372 using the 6497 movement. It felt like it was slipping. You'll need to remove the crown from the movement. Just take the caseback off and the side where the crown goes into should be the tiniest of screws on the movement. turn it half a turn counter clockwise to looses the crown and stem. keep loosening it until it comes out. Do Not unscrew it all the way. it should takes no more than a single turn to come out. then you will see if it is broken or loosely attached to the crown.

It doesnt slip a lot, out of 10 turns it may slip one notch. I already took the crown out, rescrewed it in place, it gives same result.

Could it be that the stem is not correctly seated - depth.. It is not sure it will function correct if you just screw it untill it is seated in the crown - you have to adjust it. I know there is a tutorial about it - I am on my cell know so I can't find the link - try search for changing stem.

There are three big screws holding three gears in place near the stem release screw. You have to tighten these.

When you turn the crown, you will see gears close to the crown move as you turn. Tighten all the gears that move when you turn the crown.

My new 360 is haveing the same issue. Tried the tightening all winding screws. Nope!
I seem to be able to decrease slipping by pushing the crown in further when winding, but this will prematurely wear the "O" rings.

I am going to try different stems I have here.

Regardless of what is posted here,
!. If other crown and stem fixes the problem, the Noob stem may very well have been too short.

2. "DO NOT" Never, Not ever, use super glue. The fumes can leach into the case, and cause all kinds of problems. This is what temp lock tight is for. Stay far, far away from super glue, and anything watch related!!! ;-)

3. Try heating the crown before trying to remove the stem from it. This helps most times.

I don't think it is the stem. It started slipping again. I tried different stem and crown and it still does it. I swapped out the two winding wheels with eta, for now. I suspect it is the winding pinion not making good contact with the crown wheel.

Yes, mine is also a Noob, just received a few weeks ago. I take it that the changed gears didn't help?

sadly no. I am going to take the keyless apart and replace the winding wheels.

I think this is a very common issue (slipping) with Asian 6497. 3 out of my 5 pams has got this issue. Some worse than other.
