This is the only way... I'm the same as you. I just buy 2 and then sell the other one on and mention that I've taken 1-2 links from it. Or I borrow from my friends who also like the same watch... this is unfortunately the only way.
TD'S will sometimes source you a bracelet, but I've found its much harder to sell a bracelet, than a wanted watch.
I have an 8.5” wrist, so run into the same problem. Every watch I purchase, I ask the TD to order an extra link, or worst case an extra bracelet to take links from, and then I sell what’s left. It has always worked out.

My ROF insert is going on my CF, the ROF is getting converted to a Batman with an ARF insert. Little steps, here and there. I'm not overly picky but try to do the best I can with the pieces and parts we can get.
That rof insert is certainly better colourwise than the clean. I had the clean but had to sell as the difference from gen was to drastic for me

From the few pics I've seen of the ROF insert, it looks to be a tad closer to gen than the CF insert, IMHO. Have not seen the ROF in person though. Would love to see the ROF and Gen in the same picture side by side (under both indoor and outdoor lighting). That would be the true test!

the problem is that ROF has the blue of the MK3 and the red of the MK1, however two colors that exist in the gen versions.
Instead the CF has both fantasy colors but overall more homogeneous ...
Bleh, I'll post up in wtb tomorrow then. If anyone has spare they want to sell, keep an eye out for my post
I agree with you that ROF colors are very close to the gen, albeit from different versions. CF is neither here nor there but somewhat cohesive. The red is less brown/chocolatey than the Noob.
Having said that, ROF is tempting

Gen is on the right
good for you if you prefer the colors on the left as you'll enjoy a CF GMT, but they are not gen like, especially under stronger light
