My post #1658 on July 27, 2021 https://forum.replica-watch.info/fo...si-picture-leaks-blro?p=10066086#post10066086

Even better would be to have a pressure fitted inserts, cause currently the biggest issue is that the inserts is held in place with double sided tape, which will eventually dry up. And forget about getting the watch wet. The insert being held in place by tape is a joke. How are any members remotely interested or accepting this watch with the current flaws of the wrong case and especially the taped on insert?!

I’d rather have a taped insert. 10 times out of 10.

Thanks mate !
I use a mix of epoxy glue see picture below, and for the alignement nothing special, install the bezel without the insert, and after that just align the triangle of the insert with the triangle of the dial at 12 o’clock !

Is it safe to say that if you reapply the insert with epoxy glue and let it fully cure, there is no way to then remove the insert without damaging it? Just curious as I'm planning to do the lip mod shortly.

I would say epoxy is permanent. Though you can soak the whole bezel assembly in acetone to dissolve the epoxy but whether it will damage the insert painting I have no idea about that.

Yes you can remove it if needed no problem, I did it ;)
In fact the Epoxy glue is strong enough to keep the insert in the bezel but not enough when you push the insert with a dye press or anything like that. Steel and ceramic is not the best combo for the epoxy to get a definitive weld !

That's good to know. I will definitely go the epoxy route then...I was thinking marine epoxy for better waterproofness.

the two sided tape method is not that bad
epoxying your insert does nothing for water resistance, those parts are totally outside of the waterproofed part of the case anyway

if you misalign your insert, with tape you can take it off and redo it easily, but the ceramic is quite brittle and can snap if you use something harder to remove

Tape isn’t thin enough to allow slightly more recession as per gen and will look just as bad as stock height wise.

As you can see in the first picture (first batch of CF Pepsi), teeth are very thin and smaller than the second batch.

The second batch here (same angle):

The same thing can be found when you talk about minute hands and lip.

Here the first batch (short minute hand and no lip at all):

Second batch or V2:

So, i can say that: V2 CF Pepsi is REAL

Ps: this pics are just for example. I’ve seen a ton of first and second batches before making this post.

And i think you don’t know how a gen Pepsi really is made hahah this because the first set of pics are totally wrong (submariner setting).

Here’s a gen so you can compare it by yourself:

It’s a 500 dollar rep, still like the first one with a long sleeve shirt.

I was thinking using epoxy would increase the waterproofness of the insert itself. In other words, if I went swimming with the watch on (which I like to do), the epoxy would be less likely to break down compared to the adhesive of the double-sided tape.

Few drops is fine, dipping whole watch in Vaseline jar is not :giggle:

My Assembly was Totally covered in silicon grease dirtied up my watch bench when I removed it lol.

I had to refinish the whole assembly and machine a proper hytrel gasket. Pretty disappointed in the quality of the CF assembly as well
