This is my first attempt at waterproofing a ceramic Sub and waterproofing and adjusting stem length on a DSSD. I know this has been covered many times before but this is my small contribution.
1. Place watch in case holder.
2. Open case back. I used an Anchor case opener. It takes some practice but it was inexpensive ($6.00 U.S.D.).
3. Apply silicone grease on case back, crown, and tube “o” rings. Note: make sure no grease enters movement.
4. Cleaned and finished ceramic Sub.
Seal greasing is the same for Sub and DSSD so only Sub was shown.
5. Place DSSD in case holder and remove retaining screws and tabs (4 each).
6. Mix marine epoxy. I use Loctite. It sets in about an hour and cures in 24 hours.
7. Apply epoxy to inside of HEV being careful not to get any on the threads.
8. Let sit overnight.
The DSSD I received from T4D had /has an issue the stem appears to have been cut too short for this model watch. I am unable to set the date on the watch because upon unscrewing the crown and then screwing the crown the date sets itself.
9. Place the stem in a pin vise and unscrew the crown.
once you have the proper length apply any thread lock and screw in crown.
In my case I went out as far as I could and it is still too short so I just put it all back together and emailed Robert for a replacement stem.
