I wonder if the bracelet would fit the 2500 case?

I was under the impression that 8500 has different fitment to 2500. Not sure how different though.

----

This could all get quite pricey, with all these new juicy parts but would be exciting to see some frankens!

Good spot Pap. :RWI:

this is actually quite cheap for the whole case. $1388. you put in a dial for $300 and you've got a very gen like watch

How much for a certified preowned CrPO? ~$3,500? From cost base analysis point of view, it is wiser to go for a used Gen. vs super mod rep. That is just my opinion.

the only thing is that it has no resell value but appearance wise you can build a complete gen looking watch for $2k.

the one thing i don't like about gens is how expensive it is to service them - they charge you a fortune for it. simple swiss ETA inside and you can replace the whole movement for $200.

let's see how i'm liking my lmpo when it get's here but I'm starting to eye this case, just waiting for the dial or else it's useless.

Take this tid bit in fellas,

I stole the term 30%'er from HF. An homage/rep franken @ 30% of a retail priced used gen. I have several 30%ers and a 40%er. So, if building one of these as a keeper and not a flipper, why NOT spend 40-50% on a 2500 PO...who cares initially if it has a 2824 in it until at some point you can score the 2500?

Example:
I have a Rolex 1601 Datejust, gen case, crystal, bezel, dial and a jmb modded 2824 and I have never had a rep that looks as friggin good as this genken. I am sure the same would happen with a 90% gen PO.

This is gonna be fun, fun, fun

My Fr5GPO is so good, that I've contemplated selling my Gen PO many times.

My PO is that good, I have no intent to buy the gen. Would like the new bracelet though.

He has an awesome comment on the caliber 8500 also.

"Omega 8500 Co-Axial Escapement Watch Movement

It sure is a nice looking movement, however we are unable to supply this Omega movement."

That's not available because I have that exact movement lying in my spare part box for future Franken use.

Am I right in thinking the gen 8500 hands won't fit on my ETA movement?

Hour and minute will fit. I measured and that's the same on my 8500 movement as the eta 2824-2. The sweep second wont fit its to large for the pin and will fall off.

Oh right, that will have to be done then. If it wasn't for the $60 postage to the UK I would have them ordered already!

Cheers mate, Cousins seems like a good shout. The only issue I find with them is how to work out the case number without having a gen to open up? I've searched for this and found nothing. The model number is 232.92.46.21.03.001 (Titanium 45.5mm CrPO)

Nop, crystal isn't yet available but the old one will fit, at least for the 45.5mm model.

Does anyone have a disassembly guide for a 42mm CrPO? When I opened the back it's a little different from the v5. Trying to replace the he valve and having a heck of a time. Thanks in advance!
