This a forum announcement from Staff to remind all members to exercise CAUTION and COMMON SENSE when negotiating a transaction in response to a WTB post. We are seeing an increase in fraudulent cases on multiple watch forums of members receiving a PM in response to their WTB posts on the forum. The potential seller responds that he/she (or a friend) has the desired watch and wants to work out a deal. The potential seller usually wants to conduct the transaction away from RWI and without a sales thread. This should be your first red flag. Further, be cautious of being approached by a new member and/or a member with a low post count. Although not required, Staff STRONGLY recommends that you start a proper sales thread if you intend to complete a transaction initiated via a WTB post. If there is no sales thread their is no assistance from Staff if the deals goes bad. Exercise COMMON SENSE when buying and trading on RWI. If you have doubts about a member, PM an RWI buddy or Staff. We can all look out for each other, but ultimately each of us is responsible for are own decisions and actions.
