I used goo gone on the letters and didn't make much progress so I introduced some nail polish remover. Took the shine off so I decided to file the whole case down to give it a brushed look

Wow , initially i just thought the name Casio Royale was just a play on words, i had no idea the had a Bond type background.

For those not in the know this watch bears striking resembalance to to the Seiko G757
Bond wore in Ocotopussy.

Yup, that's the one. I watched all Bond movies like a million times and always admiring those geeky Seiko's he wore in a few movies. Pretty cool to have something similar for a few bucks. :)

OK you digital dudes... I thought you might enjoy seeing these shots of a beast from the way-back machine that spawned some of the technology now on your Royale wrists...

This is the first ever digital watch model w/ a chrono function, the Seiko 0634-5009, circa 1975. Although this one has some LCD leakage and related screen drops, amazingly it still functions (but I guess after 40+ years, it's allowed to leak a little, eh?)... Enjoy!

Edit: And for a fun bit of perspective, the retail price on this one when it launched in 1975 was about $300. At that same time, a new SS Submariner listed around $350...

look at minty007 coming in strong with a watch 40 years old!! I wish i had all the watches as a kid now to look back on. I know I had the casio that was also a calculator. I have seen that on line and will probably pick one up.
