As someone who owns a Seatimer, blue Cartier hands do indeed look black at some angles. Technically it's "blued" polished steel and should look this way. The ones that look very blue at all angles tip off it being a rep. I think I'm going to jump on this deal even though the date script is a touch off

Thanks for your insight ssclassa80.
I am glad to have purchased this watch. It totally does look black in many angles, and if you catch the right angle, you can see the blue.

Hi!
I guess I am appearing a little late here, but on the new ToroBravo's website the Cartier Ballon Bleu 42mm is still on sale and I am thinking of getting one tomorrow!

Good reviews about this one? No problems with the movement or others?
Apart from the date (as already highlighted by other members), it looks very nice and close to gen, any opinions?

Thank you!

It's an amazing value. Get it while he still has them.
I have a friend who has the gen, and he was blown away. He wasn't wearing his, but he swore up and down that it was the real thing. I just about had to open up the back to show him the clone movement in order to convince him.

The Ballon is definitely worth the price. I would not hesitate recommending it.

Enjoy!
You will want to oil up the bracelet, as it is not nearly as smooth as gen.
Also, the crown is a pain to wind for my large fingers, and with the guard there, all the more so. You may have to ask your wife or kids to use petite fingers to adjust the time for you.

Received it today! It is very nice, I like it very much, but one issue: the crown and blue stone are far from the gen.
Anybody knows if a gen crown would fit on the watch? (I do not know if reps can receive gen parts..)!

Thank you!

Congrats, its a good rep and the movement is excellent. This watch def. has its flaws, but the crown isnt really that bad on this version. You def. can't see the crown on your wrist anyway. The issues I have with this watch are: (1) the lack of engravings on the bracelet; (2) the roman numerals are a little thin; and (3) the DW font is incorrect and too large. I actually replaced the bracelet with a superior rep bracelet, but haven't addressed any of the other flaws. Although I bought it last May, I don't think I have worn it outside the house so I am not planning on doing anything else with this watch.

Agreed! But I find these issues quite insignificant as barely visible (you have to focus on them to really notice them, at least I think so). The movement, as you said, is amazing, I did not expect such a quality!
About the crown, I found a gen one for a very interesting price, and was wondering if it was compatible with this watch! To have a real (and barely visible, I know) sapphire on my wrist :D:
