100% agree, because careful with the brushed part. I learned the hard way too on a Zenith Stratos Striking Tenth. You betcha. Beside that painfull episode of a lesson, I have to say that I'm impressed with how effective Cape Cod is. Fixed a lot of polished parts on various watches so far... Saved probably a good amount of costs as well vs. bringing them to a watchmaker to be polished.
You just have to prepare everything correctly and know what you're doing and not think you can just work on something spontaneously without the right preparation.
Cape cloth will polish out the scratch and nicks but will leave fine polishing marks, when you shine a torch at diff angle you will be able to see the polishing marks.
I use Sunshine cloth after Cape Cloth. Sunshine has a finer polishing abrasion than Cape Cloth. Sunshine cloth will bring out the deep shine.
Easy to buy online.
Wish op luck in fixing.
