Hey guys,

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on 2 Yachties, a Blue for me and a Rolesium (silver) for the wife. I've been looking at the 3 main factory choices for 40mm SS eta clone models (JF/Noob/BP), and have read a number of reviews here. I'm leaning heavily toward the JF, but my biggest concern is how the silver bezel insert looks. I'm not planning on any mods, and want to stay OOTB. From the pics, the Noob bezel looks smoother and cleaner, and the JF bezel not so much. Looking for some opinions from Yachtmaster owners out there!

Thanks a lot, KJ

Just curious, does your wife know it’s fake? If no then how do you pull it off with no receipts, authenticity, and all that?

Oh yeah, she knows. She delighted to have a 2nd one for pocket change compared to her gen. Makes her feel better about me spending so much on her other one!

I don't see a problem with the datewheel. In Pic 1 it's centered fine. Pic 2 was taken from a left angle, which makes the date look left justified. Angle shots can be determined by looking at the cyclops. If it's fat on the right side as yours is in Pic 2, it was taken from a left angle, hence the left justified appearance. That's how it SHOULD look from that angle.

I do see a minor issue with your cyclops. The lower edge is not perfectly level. This can happen when the crystal is not positioned perfectly. Ordinarily you could just rotate it slightly counterclockwise and fix that but in this case I'm seeing the upper cyclops edge as already perfectly level and the two edges are not parallel but diverge. The only fix for that is to replace it with another one, but I would wear it a while and see it still bothers you after a few weeks. Chances are you won't notice it on the wrist, and you'll forget about it. I have one Sub that has that flaw and I'm not going to do anything about it.

I think you are fine accepting the watch, you should be happy with it.

Nice of you to point out that mine is not as good as they used to be. I already knew that, but IMO it's not a cool thing to do to someone. It can only make them less happy with their watch.

That's actually a good thing as it's more gen like. 116622 has less sparkle than 16622

I dont want to bother u. But the noob version has different dials at the moment. The newer ones are ok. The 2016 Noob version dials were better. But the latest version has the better inlay. Overall a nice watch

Does everyone opt for the 2824 over the 3135 for these?

whats the risk going for the 24 over the 35?

Generally speaking the 3135 is better suited for accepting gen parts if your intent is to upgrade the rep. The noob Yachti's are good enough that not much modding is needed IMO, unless you really want it gen like as some have done. JF makes s great blue dial and some folks get a noob watch and add a JF dial. Personally I like the 2824/36's because of their greater reliability and easier replacement in case they need it.

Many feel at minimum a crystal and datewheel should be upgraded on most reps, that's possible with either movement. A bezel insert mod on these Yachti's makes a huge difference also, that being the biggest tell. A couple members have that mod available.

Both my Noob 2824's are stock OOTB and I'm happy with them for now. I might do the bezel mod, but I'm trying not to get sucked down into the modding rabbit hole too far. There's a Wonderland down there that's hard to get back from, LOL.

I would 100% go with the BK YM Rhodium dial. I’ve made multiple purchases to BK in the past. The quality is amazing, quick delivery, and he is very responsive. The blue dial seems a little hard to 1:1 IMO.

Interesting. I thought BK just does tweaks to Noob watches so wouldn't a Rhodium dial YM from him be just like my Rhodium dial posted above? Oh, you are saying his mods are what are great, not that the dial was modded.

Totally agree about the blue dial being hard to match but I think in the various lighting conditions the JF holds up best among the reps. Zocker did an incredible review in the post below. Keep scrolling down to the dial pics - they never stop, lol. It was enough to convince me not to get a noob blue dial. The tending toward purple in harsh light was a dealbreaker.
