Saw these pics on Paneristi.com page on FB. How is the Bronzo so shiny with almost mirror like finish. Upon inquiring about shinny ness by another member OP of the pic says he did this by polishing with cape cod. I am highly skeptical of this. Can a mirror like finish be achieved on bronze by cape cod? Is it a gen?

Mine will arrive this week. I'll clean it up a few times til I remove the random oils on the surface and let it go for a while. Not keen on the forced patina.

I started with just a light salt coating from dunking the watch in salt water.

That gave me this.

That wasn't enough, so I wet the watch, sprinkled a good amount of regular iodized table salt on the dial/CG, and set it outside on my window sill with a small cup of ammonia next to it.

I tried the ammonia/salt combo on a buckle in an enclosed box I had, but that changed it too fast, the result was black splotches. I wanted the more colorful blues/purples and I got that with the outside wafting of the open cup of ammonia.

I achieved the mirror finish on my 382 using a cape cod. I wouldnt recommend it as it becomes more difficult to achieve an even patina after that.

Can someone give me their two cents here? I bought a KW, soaked it for 5 mins in half lemon – half water, then lightly brushed it with toothpaste, then lightly wiped it with nail polish remover, rinsed, lemon again for 5 mins. I've let it go for about 4 weeks now and the patina isn't developing evenly and it's a bit blotchy still. Did I do something wrong? Should I soak it for longer? Or does ketchup work better?

Dumb question....... If you're looking for a natural patina, why did you go through all of that effort? I would have simply left it alone to patina naturally out of the box.
