By-Tor, thank you for this wonderful post. It goes without saying this must have taken alot of work. I thought I did not like Omegas until I read this post. Now the question is which on to buy? This post is worthy of a sticky :!: :!: :!: :!: :D :) [smilie=angel10.gif] [smilie=blob8.gif] [smilie=whaxatk.gif]

Where to get the double Eagle that actually has Eagles?

Ok, so where do you get the The $299 Aspire "solid gold" model ?
All the double Eagles I've seen don't actually have an eagle on the side as the picture shows in this review. Can you
please enlighten me.

Thank you,

KPasaDoc

>>>My reference guide of the 4th generation PO (contains numerous member review links) is HERE. <<<
Link no longer works.

Who is Paul and where can I look at the 5th Generation version?

Thank you,

Yes it does. You just have to be a member of rwg.cc and LOGGED IN... in order to read it. Thanks for reminding me though... I need to add that mention to the next update of this guide. There are both RWG.cc and RWI links.

The Omega Guide got a small update. Some new models added.

I'm always looking forward to new member reviews (especially for the watches that don't have them yet). Nobody has yet purchased the gorgeous black Seamaster chrono, for example?

Super guide for newbies

Hi,

The guide is super useful! It has really helped me prioritize my "wish list" of Omegas.

So far, I have bought only from Trusty Time. I would be curious to know if there are dealers who tend to carry better quality versions of the watches that were outlined.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Tim

By-Tor. Thanks for this review. Do you (or anyone) know where a blue wave seamaster can be had. I sold my mid-sized gen recently but miss it.

Thanks.

Majority of the links don't work in the first post. Can a mod/admin fix this?

i clicked on 20 links and they all worked... don't know which ones you are clicking on...

LOS. My mistake. I didn't register over there at RWG. I just got done signing in over there. I'll give it another try. You can delete these two posts of mine if you wish. Thanks.

This is an excellent guide! Thanks By-Tor.

The bezel on the 42.5 PO in the post has a fine coin edge. All the 42.5 POs I see offered now have a different bezel edge - not as fine, more like that shown on the UPO. I'm wondering why this changed. Is this new bezel inaccurate or an intentional update?

That's a photo of my old 4th Gen version which is out of production now. Well that's what people have told me. To be honest I haven't followed the PO scene much at all lately.

If I recall correctly the small 42.5mm and big 45mm version had different style of bezels, even on the gens. I could be wrong though.

Thanks for the compliments. Appreciated.

Edit: I just realized that I replied to a 3 months old post. I must monitor these more closely.

Excellent write up, but is there a more recent guide to Omegas anywhere. I mean is the 45mm still the best rep put there?

Thanks

I think the current Seamaster Professional 300M Auto version is quite accurate when compare to the gen, similar size, the lume is pale green (almost white) correct wording (the word Seamaster is red and italic between the Omega logo and the centre) and the HEV is at 10:00. Yet, the crown guard is too shallow.

Sadly, the accurate black dial version is not available...

The closest I get for black dial version (the lume is green, the word Seamaster is at wrong position and colour, same problem with the crown guard)
