Buy a complete Phong's Tudor submariner snowflake ?

I talk with Phong to buy a complete 9401 and I'm surprised : he wants to ship the watch with FedEx (I live in France).
I read here that's the thing to don't do.
Is someone can tell me if these way of shipping is safe or not ?

Hello,
French too and 9401 fan (looking to build one...). The problem with Fedex is that very often you have to pay customs duties before or after they deliver the watch, and customs official may want a payment receipt to evaluate the cost to pay. But on the other hand,they will not open the bow and seize the fake watch... So it all depends on what price Fedex declares. From two experiences, I had to pay 30€. With regular mail, risk of control by customs is very minimal but if there is control, they sometimes keep the watch and put your address on their list waiting for further interceptions...

Go for regular post with a stated value of 20$ for customs purposes. If you use fedex, or any other express currier, your package will be processed for import duties. You will be required to send a copy of the invoice and actual sum paid.

Thanks. Yes, I re-lumed them. I do my own mods. Case needed work too.
If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t buy an MQ case. The quality wasn’t great for the price and MQ is a pain to deal with.

Such a good re-lume! It looks professionally done. Did you use tape or something on the dial to make the squares? Surely it wasn't just done freehand?

i'm french too,
2021 starts soo bad...I wanted to buy Phong's FF until I read this...
1000$ for the watch + 40% tax !!!!????

No taxes because the value written in the box is 90$... But beware of customs !
I prefered to buy an other watch.

Apologies for bumping this thread but which route would you take if not MQ? I m in the process of building one too - collecting parts now - ideally I would like to build a Marine Nationale blue dial - and I would be interested to hear your view about which case you would get.
