I have a question for you. I had a SS Panda Daytona and now only have the 116519 cause I prefer the 1 mm bigger size in PM Daytonas. Since you have all 3 models, can you see if the Platona you have is more the same size as the 116519 or if its the same size as the SS Panda?

Just did a very quick comparison and the case size and shape is very similar to my 116519, as all PM Daytonas have the same "pointed down" lugs with the little flat feet I'd say this Platona would feel much more like your 116519 than a 116500. This was based on a very rough side by side check though so please take this with a pinch of salt.

I have just received my first BTF Daytona, purchased from a true gent of the forum, @LBMCK21, and I though (similarly to my CF 116518 thread) that I would post my first impressions of the watch along with some close ups, for those who may be interested in picking one up themselves!

Firstly, I am incredibly impressed with the quality of this watch, some of the things I noticed right away include just how good the crystal and dial are! The crystal is so clear and the sunburst dial is absolutely stunning when it catches the light

The watch also has the correct markings for a platinum watch both on the case and inner bracelet, which I had seen in a few other threads people were concerned about as some of the first "leaked" pics shown some versions of the watch without them. The crown and pushers look and feel great, and the watch winds beautifully, with no noticeable grittiness like you sometimes get with these 4130 movements.

The lugs are longer than a typical 116500 case (like gen) and also the SELs protrude slightly outwards as they should do. I did a quick google for some side on pics and BTF have gotten it remarkably close on first inspection, which is incredible to see!

Now the elephant in the room is of course the incorrect hands. It is annoying that BTF overlooked this but imo the positives of this watch more than make up for that, annd I assume this will be an easy swap to the correct hands which I will eventually do. The bezel is not to the quality of Cleans but still really nice overall, its only once you look closely and with a clean watch next to it for reference that you notice this anyway!

Overall I am incredibly happy with the watch and glad it has joined my Daytona collection.

Now to the part you actually want to see, the pics :

On early pics of this model it showed one of the four caseback markings was wrong: the marking shouldn’t be the two circles with a scale and 750 on top, but rather the four sided Diamond with 950 inside. I’m curious if this is correct on your version of the case.

No worries mate! I've just had a look then and you are right, the incorrect stamp has been used on this side of the back of the case. I struggled to get it completely in focus but you can just make out the scale and the 750 in the pic below!

That depends, is there anything about the BTF version that you prefer? what aspects of the watch do you care most about in terms of accuracy and appearance? Personally if you already have the Noob version of this watch I would wait for Clean's to release and see if they correct some of the issues with the BTF version

Thanks for posting. If the case has the incorrect stamp there, then it’s likely that this case also has STAINLESS STEEL engraved between the lugs on one side (as was shown in early TD / WeChat pics).

It’s not like any of these details matter for this watch looking good and feeling good on the wrist. In order to see the flaws you’d have to have the watch in-hand. And if you have the watch in hand the weight would be the easiest to notice flaw.

No worries mate! I imagine you're probably right, I had seen those pics as well so I assume this was from the same batch!

As you say though, if you're close enough to the watch to see that you would have figured it was a fake already from the weight. For me the only real issue with this watch is the hands. All minor details like the stamping and inside of the lug ingraving being wrong doesn't really matter.

Plus I think anyone who knows enough about watches to identify those type of flaws will know its a fake anyway considering its a ~£110k + watch which only a tiny fraction of people cam afford to own
