See, that's the type of guidance looking to give it. Maybe inch it along a little bit but I don't want to wake up tomorrow and have it done. I like taking the long way. Am I reply way to bother I asked about saltwater. I live right by the ocean. Should I let it take a quick saltwater bath? One a week, 1 a month? Would that even help/matter?

It's weird because it's like the opposite of all my other watches, where I try to keep them as clean as possible. It might be tough to get used to. Lol.

No no no! Don’t up it inside the liquid. Let the fumes do the job. It will take you 60 min Bro. Try it.

If i jsut start handling it, how long before ... so with just the oil and moisture from my hands, how long do you think before I start to see some changes?

Gave it a go.
Before and after..

This was about 15 or 20 min of ammonia fumes. Or I should say, the first time I did I put it in for about 20 min and it came out very dark so cleaned it, started over and this time let it work for about 12 minutes and this is the result. I like it. I like it a lot but I want to see how it grows on me for a day or two before trying again for something more subtle.

The process is pretty cool though. Thanks for the tips.

I really liked the look but at glances, I thought it was dark so I tried to lighten the patina up a little.

At first, I wanted to let the patina develop on its own but I must admit, I had fun with this process and that is why we do this. Enjoyment. And the distraction was needed too because I was stressed because one of my apartments caught on fire. (no one hurt but still a ton of stress that comes along with it).

that looks nice, man. Really nice. I don’t think it looks big at all but even if it is, it’s a Panerai, it’s supposed to be big. Also, I find that an “up close shot” on the wrist tends to look big but just normally, it doesn’t look big at all.

When I got mine a few weeks ago, I was awfully... “meh, I don’t know. It’s nice but it’s not my style” and the more I wore and played with it, the more I love it. It definitely grows on you -or it grew on me. I’m sure you’re going to absolutely love it.

What are you going to do with it? The finish and/or patina?

I like it from the start. I was actually surprised that it doesn’t look that big on my wrist. It’s 47 but it doesn’t look larger than some of the AP ROs.

Guys I have this Pam 382 coming and there appears to be something odd happening at the crown. Why is it not flat to the case? Is a protector or similar in place when fresh from the factory or is it a problem?
