Yes and no, it depends on what bracelet you wear. Because if it is a leather bracelet then it won't scratch. And since you can combine the leather with stones/metal bracelet you can just have the leather bracelet first, on the side of the watch then have the other bracelets along that.

With my vintage 5513, I've let the bracelet naturally soften the case and then polish out with cape cod cloth to give a nice, vintage patina/wear to the case.
