BP Seadweller.. Best SD available Period

NICE!!! It's amazing that the BP SD was able to trump the various sub threads to become the top thread on the rolex section. Mine should be somewhere between customs and the pacific at this point.

The 16600 is an awesome watch. Spirit was on to something way back on 7/6/2010

I still don't know that I've seen your SD Q,,, are you building one for yourself as well as R2?

Rudy, I really have no idea where I am going with this watch. So far I ordered the watch from Sead and the Bracelet from TC. My original plan called for me to use Sellita SW200 (which I have had for a while) and install and H4 CP and then install a TC DW, Dial and hand set. Then I bought an AP Safari from AskMeAgain and I want Black Bay, which is supposedly launching in a few weeks. So, my plan changed and I was going to just put on the TC Bracelet and enjoy the SD as is. Then I got my QC pictures. The watch looks good for the most part, but the triangle marker at 12 looks a little crooked:
I mentioned it to Sead and he said he couldn't see it, but he would send me a new dial if I had an issue with the watch when I have it in front of me. He's always been a gentlemen and he did give me a great price on the watch (with an extra discount because he bought me a A2824 instead of the 2814 high beat that I ordered). No way I could bring myself to reject the watch for what's probably a minor flaw. If I don't like the dial, I guess I will just order TC Dial and hands and call it a day. Given how hard I have fallen for the Black Bay, there's also a chance this becomes a C&R.
I guess I'll have to get the watch and see how I fee about it.Set the SD is top quality, I believe right up there with the TC sub and certainly the new incarnation of TC subs... This one is a keeper,,,, we have no idea what the black bay's gunna be even if it is actually released at all,, but there's absolutely no doubt about this one.

Mitch... that's a pretty compellling argument. From what I can see it's a great piece. I had actually been speaking with TC about building me a 16610LN, but I think I want to see how this looks first. With a TC dial, hands and bracelet, you might be right. This could be a much better value for what I think is cooler watch anyway. I really need to see it in person before I make any decisions. Given that this IS the No. 1 thread in the rolex section, I have to believe there's a reason this watch is so freakin' popular.
In any case, getting the TBB does not mean I ditch this watch. I two cartiers that may be destined for new homes where they will receive love and wrist time.

The first thing I did was change it,,,,and discovered a great pearl in the process..

What pearl is that? Looks pretty good. Here is my rep SD pearl next to a gen pearl. Pretty close to me

I contacted Watch Materials about the pearl in their SD insert as its totally different then their stand alone pearl, they claim there's no difference, however I've ordered two stand alone pearls to try and get another like the one that came in the SD insert,,Ha! Not happening... Then I ordered a second SD insert complete with pearl and presto! Another almost gen perfect pearl here you judge for yourself,,, the pearl in my wm9 is a stand alone WM pearl and the one in my SD came out of a WM SD insert,,here they are side by side:
As you can see they are way different but the pearls in the WM SD insert is the closest to gen pearl I've ever seen and worth every sent of the $25 bucks it cost... Buy the SD insert and remove the pearl and use the insert that came with the watch as its really good and much better then the WM insert.
Here's the finished product:
Also I intend to use the WM SD pearl in all of my subs as they are the best by far I've seen anywhere! Too bad they will not sell them as a stand alone part.
