Hello,

I noticed my BP Daydate with a ETA 2836-2 Clone movement made a loose rotor noise. I tried to tighten the center screw but it keeps spinning. I think i messed up the thread in the automatic works. What can i do to fix this? Is there a place where i can buy a clone movement for donor parts or the automatic assembly? I already ordered a new rotor since i found out it was the bearing that has alot or play. Im really interested in learning watch smithing and i think i can pull it off but im having trouble finding replacement parts.

Storm.

@KJ2020 is the expert here

I believe the rotor can only be fixed in one position.

Plenty of places to get parts, genuine dealers, ebay, aliexpress just have to make sure you get the right parts.

example rotor:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/403012442033
Example for many parts:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/133410481173

No recommendation for either seller; these are just examples...

There are references to the part numbers of the 2824 all over the internet.

DG rotor bearing holes have a straight line on one side that allows only one placement orientation, ETA rotor holes do not.

You should need only the autowind bridge or the rotor screw. If you want to learn movements anyway, buy a new one and scavenge the parts. I wouldn't take the BP movement completely apart just yet, just give it the new part. The DDs are slightly more challenging due to how the dial is fixed in the movement holder. No need to get in over your head right away.
