matt2302 wow that is absolutely beautiful! I'd have absolutely jumped on that, amazing deal!!

I was was about to enthuse about how close my bracelet looks to the one on your gen when I saw your other post haha. Still, congratulations are in order, you got the deal of the century there!

Yes I should of mentioned that it's all gen apart from the bracelet! The rep bracelets are super accurate though. £80 for the rep and £400 + for a gen. No brainier really.

@matt2302 Haha you'd honestly never know! How is the clasp on yours and when did you buy it? The one that came with my SMPc rep recently is awful and if they still make the other type with the ceramic ball bearings and deep engraving etc I want to try and get one.

I got mine from josh about 6 months ago. No ballbearings but great clasp and good engraving. Compared it with a gen in my hand and was very impressed. Only slight issue is on one of the sel's the polishing of the mid link is slightly over into the brushed part but I can easily tidy up with some tape and garryflex to rebrush.

matt2302 Mine has the same slight thing with the brushing on the end links - seems common with this rep and doesn't overly bother me. I'll sort it if I ever re brush the whole bracelet.

Definitely sounds like a different clasp to mine then - I might send some messages round

Just a quick update on this review with some long term impressions!

The clasp is holding up pretty poorly as far as scratches go. It's picking them up a lot more easily than either the rest of the bracelet or some of my other rep clasps which seems to point to poorer quality steel like I originally suspected.

The white bezel markers are now bugging me enough for me to consider forking out for a gen bezel.

The crown and/or tube are now almost stripped after about 3 months of normal use - there's only half a turn of thread left in it so it looks like it's getting a gen crown and tube soon (if pinching the tube doesn't sort it) The movement has also developed a worryingly crunchy feeling when winding but I don't tend to do that so not so big a problem.

The outer AR isn't faring too well and as well as I look after my watches it's picked up light scratches all over.

One side of the spring bar on the 12 o clock end link keeps popping out and so the end link won't stay in place properly.

My plans for this are: reshape the case (lugs and crown guards), gen hands, bezel paint mod and if I'm still not happy then I'll start looking for a gen bezel, gen bracelet and double AR.

I've decided against using this case for my franken wave dial SMP project so I'm still looking for something to finish that off as I can't wait to get that done. I love that watch every time I look at it but the case flaws are just too much :(

Could you please post a picture of the case back? How do I get ahold of Lucy? Sorry I have never purchased from her.

Looks like a beautiful watch! I had the first BP version with the wrong case back and painted bezel.

Her email address should be on her store page, I don't think she has a website, just email.

I thought I'd put a pic of the case back, must have forgotten it - I'll try to add one today!

Thanks, it is, but I'm not 100% happy with the build quality (crown tube made of cheese, rubbish clasp) and minor flaws for the money. I mean while the bezel font is wrong on the cheapo 21J SMPc's I've seen them with the actual printing looking closer to gen than this.

That's a nice review, thanks!

Thank you! Hopefully I'll be able to try the bezel mod on it soon.

The gen bracelet gets scratched up just as easily.. I put a scratch on mine first day I wore it. I actually prefer an oyster bracelet even though the gen SMP bracelet is definitely very quality made. I just like the shape and the look of the oyster better, never get tired of it. I thought in the beginning I would never swap my SMP bracelet to any other straps cause I liked it so much but over time I kind of got tired of it, it feels too much old school and looks too jewelry on a wrist, maybe it’s just me. I am now wearing my Seamaster on Nato straps. I change them every few days, just having some fun with it for Summer. It looks gorgeous on a Bond Nato and I like it on a Navy Nato as well. Regarding the color – blue or black, for me it was never a debate as I love Navy/Deep blue so much so I went straight with the Blue and do not regret it. Almost every other watch I have is black so it was really a no brainer. When it catches the sun light just right it actually looks almost black or very very deep blue tone with the wet asphalt/blueish color of the bezel, it is really gorgeous.
Thank you for this review, a lot of useful info is in it.

hey there, newbie here, I've just got a gen omega GMT great white wave dial which I really like but the bracelet is a bit worn. I also have the gen smp wave dial bond, I put the bond bracelet on this and it looks amazing, problem is I now want a bond braclet on both watches! You mentioned you got the rep bracelet from Josh for £80, which dealer is he as I'd like to order one.

cheers

This is a real attainable gen. Its a really classic and extremely versatile watch. Goes with anything from a suit to jeans. The ceramic dial changes colour depending on the light. It's really beautiful.

Picked this as my first gen, and I'm delighted. Happily do gen v Rep if anyone wants to loan me a Rep to compare.

First of all Thank you for such amazing review. In the other hand, I was wondering if this model has any play in bezel?
