So i was strolling along the internet looking at watches and the term "boyfriend watch" came up. I must not go out much because apparently its a hot new trend for girls. Women like, Michelle Obama, Elisha Cuthbert, Tara Reid, Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus...etc. are apparently into it. The company Toy Watch is one of the go to brands. If you go to the actual article they show watches that look like submariners... the brown dial is actually kinda interesting but i could never.
The Boyfriend Watch
ToyWatch has continually been keeping abuzz since its launch in 2006. Inspired by high-end pieces, ToyWatch has created an affordable, chic unisex brand, and, to say the least, was proclaimed as one of Oprah’s favorite things. At first starting the trend of ceramic watches, the brand has now ventured on a new trend of their own: the “boyfriend†watch.
For ages, women have been stealing men’s watches off the shelves of stores and from their wrists, but now they can have their own version. This oversized timepeice will be popular with women who crave bulky wrist wear, and also those that want to be a part of the “oversized†trend this spring.
Presented as a “men’s watch for women,†the surprisingly masculine yet feminine line is available in ToyWatch’s class and irreverent array of colors. Available in varieties including nylon strap or acrylic bracelet styles, these watches will add interest and variety to everyday or work wear, equally. These watches are the ultimate statement making and affordable accessories for this season, and are more affordable than the classic timekeepers they are modeled after.
Fans of the ToyWatch line have obsessed over the clear and black styles the brand has become known for. This spring, the Italian collection will be known for their oversized watches that come in nylon straps and acrylic bracelets mixed with golds and silvers. The mix of acrylic and metal is edgy and innovative, and adds a splash of interest to anyone’s warm-weather wardrobe, with a sleek and classic finish.
