A few weeks ago after a tiff between the low-rent and high-rent watch people, I was inspired to come up with a badge for those of us who dabble in the cheapie-reps. Im sure most of us have at one point or another.

Now I dont want this to turn into a discussion on the merits of either. I just wanted to toss this little graphic/badge I put together. Im not a graphic artist and some of the tools I used left watermarks Ive tried to remove. Be gentle (thats meant of those who come in hard and dry with their opinions sometimes.)

The watches in the picture are a red Panerai faux tourby, a blinged out date-just I think, and a four-subdial Bentley.

Cheapie reps are a great starting point for this addiction as they let us easily try different styles of watch.

And even when you do graduate to the more expensive rep, the cheapies can still form part of a collection.

Nice idea for a club, and nice banner. A sense of humour is essential here.

How cheap does your cheapest watch need to be to qualify for club membership?

I would think that qualifications would be:

1. Quartz where an auto should be, or
2. Obvious fantasy, or
3. Under about $120

One of my faves would qualify: my quartz IWC Ingenieur chrono. $88 I think a year or two ago. Ill admit there are about 10 WE-type reps I still want with no high end equivalent, including the panda version of this watch.

I sold or gave away all but a few of my nicest reps.
Except one:
My Fakemaster SMP at $110 three years ago is still among my favorite daily work beaters. I wore it today, as a matter of fact.
I'll post pics later. I'm I the jacuzzi right now and the wife has that look in her eyes...

Oh but there's more check out my patented custom bracelet. It allows the wearer to identify the watch in case of theft...

Yes it marks the wearer a cool green after a while. ever wonder if your rep bracelet is full SS? Well wonder no more...

btw boost it's my pimp slap watch, when I need to slap I put this on.
