Blue 16610 Sub project finally finished!

Hello everyone,

I was working on this quite a while to aquire the parts and finding the best rep sub to fit it. SSTEEL did put me this beauty together.

TC V5 Sub
TC V3 Bracelet
TC V4 Clasp
Gen crystal
Gen blue Insert that was a 16613 insert that is faded and was a little but ****** up SSTEEL did some nice work on it
Gen Pearl from another Insert
Swiss ETA from SSTEEL
Gen Crown

First things first: This is such a nice piece! I would call it gen if you asked me on the street, no doubt! :biggrin:
Do you guys think this watch would withstand 300 meters ( or 30 bars ) of pressure as the gen?

I did read on a gen rolex forum that you can fade a 16613 insert(the letters are golden at first) by youre own if you use some chemicals to get rid of the gold letters. But then you fade the blue also. But if you find the "right" chemicals that just get off the gold would be very nice. That is my next project. Fade a 16613 insert by myself. Then its going to my gen sub.

Looks really nice. I recently replaced the insert I'm my gen 11613 with a new one because the numbers had faded like that. I sold the insert on ebay. It was right before I found this forum. I didn't realize at the time how valuable the "faded" inserts were!

I can confirm its a genuine insert as I fitted it, and replaced the pearl for another genuine pearl. Unless you were referring to the other sub posted, the two tone one?

No, I was referring to the blue/silver one. The 2 just looks like a different font then other gens I have been looking at. Different then my gen black insert too.

Reason I'm inquiring is because I have been looking to do the same thing. Can't find a faded gen so I'm looking for the most accurate non gen.

this is the best I can find but the 5 looks too thin. Actually they all look too thin but the bottom half of the 5 looks thin and weird.
