I find the brown very chocolate and not really comparable to the blacks in terms of ease of matching straps too. It has a warmth to it that, while attractive in its own rate, is rather discordant with a lot of typical strap colors. I'm waiting on a Gunny blond to see how that works, but out of everything I have tried it with, the gen asso strap is the best.
It's also hard to capture the color in pics. The below is probably the best I've seen in terms of capturing how it looks in real life, of course depending upon your monitor balance even that is going to be off!

For some reason my 505 KW V2 does not look as brown IRL as compared to that picture be it in door lighting or natural sun light. Mine is more darkish brown. No idea why though the brown in that picture is pretty awesome.
