Mmm I see what you mean. Mind you it looks fairly symmetrical so I'm not too fussed. It'll be interesting to see what it's like in the flesh.

I'll see how I feel about the lume hue. I'll definitely swap the crowns but I'm a little reluctant to throw to much money at it. I give myself 2 years before I succumb to buying a birth year 'grail'!

Mine was $198 + shipping. It's a superb rep for the money - better than the Cartel version IMO (as long as you don't want to swap the crystal).

I'm going to swap in a 703 crown and scuff it up a little. So far it's been running <COSC for the past 3 days ;-)

You're probably not going to find a good DW for the 1680 in white, so I'd stick w/ the PT DW w/ the silver background- it's kinda correct.

You might try bleaching the yellow lume by placing the watch on a window sill in the sun for 2-4 weeks. A couple of mine turned lighter- not the Chernobyl yellow.
A tea stain would also tone down the yellow.

Great idea. Will this have any fading effect on the bezel insert? My Puretime red 1680 has markers and hands that are a creamy tan shade. I've seen a lot of pics of gens with the same color markers and hands, so I'm not too worried about that but if this was an easy way to fade the insert and have it look natural, then I would do this for sure.

I don't think the fading will occur on the bezel insert- they seem to hold up better. That leaves you with go old bleach in a bowl, etc.

Did you happen to have this pressure tested? Did it pass, if so to how many bar? What are your opinions about this watch? I'm probably going to order the exact one today.

I figured as much. I periodically just take a little bleach on the end of a Q-tip and run it around the insert a few times, then rinse it off. Over time as the watch itself is worn in the sun and ages I think I'll get a nice, natural look.
