Hello everyone,
The title says it.
What Rolex Yachtmaster Rep do you consider the best as of now. There are some new ones on the market and I want to know more about that and hear you experience.

Important for me would also be the waterproofing. I want to go swimming in the pool, in a lake, and it should hold at least a couple meters of water depth.

Any suggestions?

Standard RWI answer to "what's the best" question: do your own research.

As for me, I'm not up-to date but last time I checked clean was solid. Don't know/remember if VSF also had good YM. It depends on model and dial color, though. There's some good threads in the rolex section that will tell you a lot.

I just bought one from trustytime earlier today. Did a lot of reading and research and ended up going with the YachtMaster 126622 904L SS/SS D-Grey VSF VS3235 model as it seems to be the best version out of the rest.

Just waiting on QC pics then shipment. Looking forward to getting it and seeing how good it is.

yes I think VSF is the way to go. They seem to be ahead of the game. Do you know anything about it being waterproof? Would you take it for a swim?

No idea although the seller I bought from says it’s water proof to 30m. But I’ll probably take it somewhere to get it properly water tested. Just to be on the safe side.

I just got this one fro Jason007 on DHgate for $85. Got it in about 2 weeks. BUT so far I haven't been able to get either of the 2 Pushers to work. They don't even depress at all. The red second hand goes all the time (it shouldn't) and the subdial second hand doesn't move at all (it should). I've reached out to Jason about it, waiting for response. Maybe I just don't know how to properly operate it.

From my research regarding the matter you have a choice between CF and VSF.

Both have their respective benefits and detriments, I'll do my best to list them below.

CF - Slightly better case, better bracelet, VR3235 (easily sourced movement and parts), better bezel feel, bad xtal, slightly inferior movement to the VS3235, rehaut angled more broadly

VSF - Case good but not as good as CF, VS3235 (superior movement but exclusive, great difficulty sourcing movement/parts for repair), good bezel feel but slightly inferior to CF, much much better xtal, rehaut angled more steeply

So the general consensus is for the most gen like watch in appearance go CF with a xtal swap, also easily serviced.

If you want the best OOTB watch go VSF, but if your superior VS3235 fails it will be difficult to remedy.

I personally went CF Rhodium/Slate and it's a great little watch. Still need to swap the xtal, might end up just selling it though and getting something that brings me more joy.

In conclusion, both are excellent watches with their own positives and negatives. It is ultimately up to you to decide which one is "the best". Hope this helps.

Hi and welcome to RWI! Glad you found your way here.

Sorry to tell you but that's a proper shitter, if you expect it to work then you're up for big disappointment, it won't, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem since it really looks bad, and I'm one who doesn't notice rep flaws too much. Hands, fonts, subdial, case shape, it all looks terrible. My advice, put it in a drawer and research here your next proper rep. I doubt there's a y decent yachtmaster 2 around, so I'd switch my attention to something else.

Please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members area (all subsections), learn the basic forum rules and get some very good advice in the process. A number of questions has already been answered there, this is just an example:

As a new subscriber, you've already been directed to this thread, please read carefully and look through the linked additional threads:

Another good thread to read to understand where RWI comes from and some fundamentals is this:

Most of the information you need to know to start is there. If you're preparing to buy, read the stickies before ordering. When you're finished, you can continue learning by reading the stickies in all remaining sections. If it's stickied, it's important information.

If you intend to sell, read the sales rules and all stickies in the sales section with particular care and make sure you understand each single rule. Sales rules infraction is taken very seriously here. As a new member you are not eligible to sell. Using the sales section is a privilege, eligibility must be earned, make sure you know and understand how.

For anything else, feel free to reach out to @eBoy or me, we're happy to assist, advise, direct, explain. Don't hesitate.

This forum is a treasure trove of information and benefits from the engagement of all members who take their time to share their knowledge, help each other out and have some fun. We hope that you'll benefit and enjoy this platform as well as contribute positively to it.

If at any point you feel to contribute also on another level, feel free to pm the boss (trailboss99) to become a supporter and get some little perks with the status (editing rights, for example).

Enjoy the forum.

Sorry mate but for $85 you can’t expect high quality reps. It looks absolutely terrible and I’m no expert in telling flaws in a rep watch. But straight away I can tell that is a joke of a rep. For a decent quality rep, you want to be spending around 300 at the very least.
Sorry but as someone said earlier, I’d just throw that in a drawer and forget it ever existed and look at something a bit more high quality v

Bzw. Does anyone have experience about the rose gold versions? Did anyone ever conduct a gold test? How long until it will wear off…since it is just plated.

If you paid anything for that piece of junk then you got served.
