The 1887 is a damn fine choice for the money, very much genlike, accurate, and under the radar. For over $500 the noob Daytona with a true clone 4130 and working chronos is a great example of the daytona to get. The navitimer is a cool watch but with flaws. There was some good Pams on the 7753 but not sure any of them are in production anymore. I wouldn't hold my breath for a timewalker either. I can't remember the last time I saw an accurate one for sale. The IWC 3777 is a solid choice and very close to gen. I preferred the older style balanced look with triple date but that's a personal preference.

It is by searching for the impossible that replicas have always realized the possible. Those who have wisely limited to what appeared to them as possible have never put an Asian 7750 on their wrist.

Im also interested in switching the Asia 7750 to an eta 7750 - anybody know something about that or did it? The eta are sold for 300 bucks i think

7750s are reliable as hell as chronos go. I don't have any experience with the asian 7750, but I'm a watchmaker. Not afraid of movements. Well, not afraid of anything that isn't a fusee or tourbillion anyhow.

Definitely not interested in anything that doesn't work as genuine, at all.

especially with a service, they're expensive and complicated movements but once they're set up cleaned and oiled they'll last a while

I was going to get a gen eta but decided against it, the asian movements when serviced are pretty reliable and 1/3 of the price. Gen is worth getting if you need the gen datewheel like on the aquatimers or something.

The a7750 is a good movement and so is the eta. Plenty of both without issue for years after years floating around in my collection and many others. Service can be expensive but all around solid, especially in unmodified form.
