Best Bezel Insert for LV Sub?

I need a new green bezel insert and pearl for my brother in laws, LV sub.

Anyone know which is the best one? I know people always talk about the watchmaterial pearl, but is that insert decent too? I dont' really want to order two inserts for the best of both worlds kind of thing since it's not for me.

Any info is appreciated.

just get the watchmaterial insert becasue its got a nice pearl.. the rest of the insert isnt that bad.

You can't source a gen 'lv' insert for love nor money but you can get a gen black insert ($50 if you look hard/long enough). I bought this insert http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBMARINER-50TH-B ... m153.l1262 and put the gen pearl in it and it looks great...

Wow, I guess I need a new monitor. I can hardly tell the difference between these two.

Can anyone tell me which one is correct for an LV sub?

16800 is the LV. 5513 is vintage no date sub.

By the way, check BK's section for best insert. I think he uses the one from Wholesaleoutlet990 on Ebay as I recall, with the Watchmaterial pearl.

Gasdoc - I have the BK LV sub I rec'd last month. I have not been bold enough to take it into and AD to compare side-by-side to a gen but have the distinct feeling that there is a noticable difference. Has anyone been able to compare the two side/side for an informed opinion?

Other than my misgivings about the color of the bezel, very happy about the watch.

I tried the gen on recently at an AD and the insert was a light green colour, not like the noob which is to dark IMO. The gen feels just as light and flimsy as the rep by the way, the only giveaways with the noob apart from the above are the crown position, date font/magnification, bezel underside where it meets the case and that when date/time setting the crown turns in different directions. If you do a quick search of Cricks posts there are detailed pics of his gen 'LV' for comparison... :wink:

Classic example of me never seeing a gen LV other then via internet ...
All this time I've thought the gen had a dark coloured green to it !!
Good to know its not the case - as I was in the process of searching for a new insert as well.
