Hi,

1st off being a newby I can't say how grateful I am to this site which has helped to direct me away from all the Horse Sh*&t flying about on the web.

I have been looking to purchase at the B&R BR-007 BR 01-94 both on the Hont & Replica Make websites both with the 7750 movements - As they both have the Military Spes. rather than Spec. miss-spelt on the back plate I'm assuming they are the same watch ?

My other questions if anyone can help (Smidsy ;)):

Is this the best choice for a B&R 01 rep ? (for a budget of $300+ ?)

How water resistant is water resistant on the rep's - can they be make more water resistant if needed ?

Can I get the watch serviced and maintained by a Rep specialist ? (I'm close to London)

Any help appreciated,

Thanks

W

Hi tintintin and welcome aboard. As you already mentioned, SMIDSY will be the best of help here when it comes to B&R watches. For all I know about the BR01 you can get quite a decent rep for 300+. The thing you need to look for is the caseback especially the screws on it. The high end reps have real screws holding the lugs to the case while the cheaper one have engraved "screws" I believe that those with the real screws have the correct spelling on the back as well but I'm not too sure about that. As for the dial, I think it's pretty much spot on excluding some tiny anal stuff like Lid instead of Ltd but that can only be seen under a loupe lol. Anyway let smidsy chime in

Okay I should really keep an eye on the B&R threads to help people out ;)

OK I don't know what a BR-007 is but the 01-94 I can happily help with. All dealers will get the same watches so yes they're the same watch, both have the a7750 and will have a recessed datewheel and slightly incorrect back. You can find older reps with the better spelling but without the hex screws so either way you'll still have a flaw on the back :)

I would personally go for the SS versions as they avoid the problem of being called out on off colour PVD or the Ltd ones.

On the 01-92 (brave they're quite big  ) I'd go for the 01-92 SS white, probably with a clone 2892 movement. This basically means you don't have to spend the money on a 'swiss' eta and stillend up with a clone AND later you can get it serviced/swapped for a gen eta whenever you want :) The 01-92 should be around the 240-250USD mark..... no more and they're all fairly good!

Servicing: I know a place in london that is rep friendly - they're not cheap though. If you want it greased/regulated I can do that easily for you....!

SMIDSY will be the best of help here when it comes to B&R watches.

Haha TY QQ :)
