I think they changed the strap because I heard from Joshua he had approved it. I just asked him if it indeed was upgraded :)

I am sourcing the set screws. For those interested, here's the specs:

M2.5 x 0.45
3mm length
stainless steel

Tap drill size: 0.081in. (number 46)

The watch looks great other than the lack of screws. I thought that was going to be corrected? I would still pick it up but it does look goofy having a little arrow pointing to nothing. :?

Anybody heard an update on the orange version?

mower,

yes, but if they use the higher grade 316 stainless, it maybe tricky. Stainless steel is hard to work with because of its physical properties. If you feed the drill to fast, the bit will burn and actually harden the stainless steel, making it very tough to drill through again.

Other than that, drilling and tapping is no problem. I was hoping to get a second case so that I can experiment on it first before risking actual watch case.

For those DIY attempting to do this. I recommend you buy Cobalt drill bits. They are better for SS.

Thanks cntrl
I would of drilled it slow anyway as I discovered this years ago when I was into custom bikebuilding ,
I did a lot of work with stainless, making brackets , lugs etc . I just hope the bolts would look right after doing it , having said that they couldnt look worse than they do at the moment

I am so so so close to purchasing one right now!!

I really dig the black one. Does anyone know if
I will be able to switch out the bands with one of our strap dealers'?

Just in case the strap isn't upto the par.

Joe

Joshua told me the strap is closer to the leather on the gen than on the prototype. It looks like from the pictures that the strap may be unique to the watch. I should have mine in about 5-7 days. i will let you know.

JOEJOEJOE@For the straps you can custom make it. I've seen a few fellas at the bigwatchforum had their strap custon made. Very nice. There is a local strap maker which can replicate the BR01 strap here but im not sure on the pricing. will let you know if i can get any info on this...
