Hi Everyone,

First time posting so go easy! I have been researching reps over the past month and I am ready to go with a Panerai PAM111. Before I contact a TD (I'm thinking of going with Puretime) I just wanted to make sure I was looking at the same watch as the Super-Rep/NWBIG list.

This is the one I am looking at (I can't post full links yet due to lack of posts)

pam111-p-v4-noob-1-1-best-edition-on-brown-asso-strap-a6497-with-y-incabloc

Am I on the right track or is this not the super-rep?

Thanks!

Yes, you want a noob v4. Doesn't matter the strap, in fact I'd recommend you get the rubber. The beautiful thing about Panerai is you can change the strap and have a completely different look. I've spent over $1k on strap, bands and bracelets for my two pieces.

Welcome
Yes go with the Pam 111 noob v4. If it’s your first you will think a gen has arrived in the post.
You won’t be disappointed

So is the Noob V4 the most 1 : 1 rep I can get? I'm totally new at this, coming from a g etat MM and I want to "upgrade".
I read on here to avoid V3 watches mixed with V4 parts, is it confirmed that pure time sells a "real" V4?
Also, is the V4 better or the KZ? I'm getting mixed vibes.
Finally, I love that pure time uses ht tps (most chinese sites expect you to input your info over an insecure connection...) but are they safe to trust with my CC info etc.? How long would shipping take to the US?
Thanks a ton guys!! Really looking forward to being part of what is ironically the best watch community on the internet!

Since this is your first day and you are jumping in here are some hints.
Pay using Western Union. You will get a discount that covers most of the WU charges.
If you are located in USA don't ship via DHL
Order the Pam111, V4 using the link above.
Then relax and read the threads on this site while you wait weeks for your watch. This is not Amazon.

Didn't expect a reply so quick haha
I'm currently dorming while I do my PhD, so I'm going out and getting a money gram or western union is kind of a hassle. I take it that using a CC with them isn't wise?
As for shipping, they seem to only have two options for me: Airmail and Express with Track and Trace.
I'm looking to buy the: PAM111 P V4 Noob 1:1 Best Edition on Black Rubber Strap A6497 with Y-Incabloc. No idea if this is a "pure" V4 or not.
Thanks again for replying to my neurosis haha

I wouldn't use a CC.

Mine was jacked (not sure by which site but I am not ruling out any including those secured sites). Now I will only do Western Union, bank transfers or Paypal

I've used CC on all major TD's. No issue, except sometimes the bank calls and asks if the weird Chinese transaction was me or not.

I have a noob V4 as well. Great watch. Make sure the micro set screw on the swan neck isn't loose, or it will probably fall off eventually, into the balance wheel.

Thanks for the advice. Any do I make sure it's not loose? Is this a common problem with noob V4s?

Looks like puretime doesn't accept paypal.
Are there any other sellers of PAM 111 noob V4s that do? Kinda wish there was a buyers guide or something

Unless they're as good as the Noob V4's are I'm probably not interested sorry...

Perfect Clones does accept Paypal. BUT THEY ARE NOT A TD HERE

Also, they may not be the best in terms of prices but I do like them for their speed.

If you are concerned spend a month reading then you will be ready buy.

They are probably closer to the real deal mate. I really dont understand all the fuzz around a 111 specially if its coming mostly as a hybrid between v3 and v4 parts.
Most users here just advice the 111 as a Starter because its a good super rep and its a base model. But ATM i can't see no better deal than the super reps for 129usd boutique editions. And ATM considering how close they are to the real deal and the price they are a must buy rep imo.

Actually the 111 is one of my favorite designs of all time. I would totally buy a gen if riche mont wasn't the worst watch company to occupy this planet. I wasn't specifically looking for a rep but get at seems iffy as hell to deal with and jack son sells the "lower end" MMs.
Anyway, can I get some specs on the 111 that toro bravo is selling? Main concern is an AR coated sapphire and a Crown guard that doesn't fall off after a few weeks lol

Pretty common with the recent batch. If it's not threaded in enough to contact the adjustment needle, it will be loose.

Considering the screw issue would you recommend getting it serviced once it arrives as I've seen recommended for other reps?

Puretime (as well as most other TDs) have PayPal but they won't hand it over to someone who just joined yesterday, not even if you're studying for a PhD. :hehehe: You can use CC but the credit card processor which is outside of the TDs control, will charge an additional amount that so far has not been shown to be of a fixed percentage or value. That's why members here suggest Western Union/Money Gram. You pay everything plus a fixed fee. Some TDs even give you a slight discount if you use WU so the fees are somewhat compensated.

There is no real V4 PAM111, all TDs advertise them but no one has been able to demonstrate the ability to supply them on a consistent basis (through no fault of the TDs, the factory just gives them what they call V4). There are more false V4s than actual V4, not that the V3 is a bad watch anyway.

Specs wise, if it's advertised as a Noob V4, or a VSF V2 or whatever, it is essentially the same watch, just advertised a little bit differently by each TD, which sometimes use their own "1:1", "Copied from a gen purchased by the factory" or some other blurb. They get the watches from the same factories, so you're not getting a watch of a different quality if you source it from another TD. I'm actually planning to do such a review later, if I ever get the time.
