Nah, those aren't tweezer marks. Looks more like grease on the pictures. If so, than it's a easy clean.

Thank you very much. I don’t have the tools to do the job at the moment like a watch ball to open the case back etc, but would appreciate your help in the future :)

I’ve had a problem with the bezel which was a bit loose and lucky managed to fix it yesterday. Apparently some of the screws were loose and I also bend the spring a tiny bit but it wasn’t necessary I think.

I have had the same problem with my gen titanium sea wolf before.

...man I can’t get the bezel back on jt chronomat to save my life. I mean it’s my first time attempting this, but it should be Pretty straight forward... Maybe I bent the actual bezel or who knows.. but it just ain’t doin...

Yes, it actually is quite straight forward, as long as you understand how it’s constructed you will be able to find your way around. Basically the Breitling bezels doesn’t pop into its place like Rolex and others, it locks into place with a help of a spring in the photo being pushed by tiny screws on the bezel, if it still doesn’t you can bend the spring to allow a better fit when the bezel screwed down into its place.

You need a screw driver though, size 1.4 I think. And use a toothpick or something similar to avoid any scratch when tryi by to remove the spring.

Not al Breitling reps have functioning bezel screws. Some are just cosmetically and the bezel is actually press fitted. Don't know how about yours Slanglican

Did you loosen the screws almost all the way out? The bezel should just drop in place without much force. Try it first without the spring to determine if the spring is now the problem.

Come to think of it, it's actually very easy to spot if yours is screw on. Look on the inside of the bezel. Do you see the screws come through? If not, then it's pressure fitted.

Oh no, I basically had to pry the bezel off..

Screw on?????
oh boy, if it is, then yeah, I definitely messed something up bc I basically pried that thing off..
but now that you mention it, when I was playing sound with it when I would twist it, it would start to be able to rotate while clicking like normal and I remember asking myself “does it screw on”? I immediately dismissed that saying nah, no way it screws on...

No, sorry. I didn't mean the bezel itself can be screwed on.

On the outside of the bezel you see the screws, right?
Since you have removed the bezel; can you see the screws on the inside of the bezel?

If so,
Then the screws push then spring (that round piece of wire like in tsikas's post) against the case. There should be little to no resistance when installing the bezel.

If not,
Then it's pressure fitted.

Oh, yeah, the screws don’t have much impact on it..
if say it was definitely pressure fitted and I messed something up or bent it.. who knows! That chronomat was. $400 waste, but it’ll come in handy for parts I may need for other watches I guess.. I’ll pull the rotor screw next for my navi world...

Just got a V2 from Hont and I noticed a few flaws not previously mentioned in this thread:

1. Bezel screws are slightly sunken into the bezel - gen screw heads protrude slightly outside bezel.

2. Date font dates from 21 through 29 have the second digit printed slightly lower than the 2.

3. Does the gen have the concentric circle pattern in the subdials? If it does, they are not visible in any photo I've seen online!

1. You are right. They lay deeper in the rep bezel.

2. Mine 2's are fine. Same height.

3. Yes they do. Gen same as rep.

Bring this thread back to life…

has anyone weighted just the head of the watch? I wonder how the weight compares to the claimed Gen weight?

I’ve owned a bunch of Gen and rep Breitlings, and the gen’s always seem to weight a little bit more.
