There have been so many special editions, and revisions, ect that even the breitling afficianado's can't keep track. I've been to numerous ad's and none of them know what configurations and dial colors they come in. Your pretty safe wearing the Serie Speciale even if you dont get it brushed.

haha...funny how there's so many models that even their own AD gets confused.
Choosing a Breitling seem harder than chosing a Panerai.

The one thing panerai did right is their numbering scheme, if you like panerai you know what a 63 is and a 192 or 172... To a Breitling ad a navitimer is a navitimer is a navitimer.

Thanks andreww. so inyour opinion of the whole breitling line, which do you think is closest to the real thing? The Bentley GT?

I'm not really qualified to speak on the whole Breitling line, but I would say that from the front, the navi I showed you is more accurate. The GT is nearly perfect, but the bezel insert is far too wide. The Navitimer I showed is nearly perfect from the front.

love panerai's (waiting for Davidsen to finish work on superlume and canon fix for my 111h)! got two of them from EL. Then saw a Bentley GT at the local AD with the maroon face and instantly wanted one. Just waiting for a few dealers to reply to my pm's before I pull the trigger. Trying to find the best price and accuracy.

Here's another question for the pro's...will a genuine swiss 7750 from ebay fit in the casing?
I am planning to buy the rep and the movement at the same time and then have it transplanted.

Thanks to everyone for their help. Great forum!

I dont agree with that. I can tell a rep breitling from 10 feet. Why? No purple tint on the crystal. That navi along with most other breitling reps lack the AR coating that all gens have. I own 2 gen breitlings and that purple is very noticeable. I still believe the ti seawolf was the best ever breitling rep. Weight, dial and AR coating on the crystal are perfect. I own it and have put it side by side with a gen seawolf and let me tell you. I was really impressed. I looked at the two and said "why would you ever buy a gen seawolf"

on a blue dial navi it is very diffacult to see it. the dial color hides it pretty good. on a white or black dial it is very easy to see it.
