Asian "ETA" 2836 Power Reserve Issue

I recently received a GMT IIc with an Asian "ETA" 2836 movement. It's the same movement I have in two other watches. The problem I'm having with this one is it wont stay running for more than four hours if left idle. My others will run at least ten hours if left still.
Can this be fixed? It doesn't seem right to have to set it every morning.

Sounds like the problem I'm having - not really a power reserve problem, but the watch just stops unexpectedly - sometimes 1/2 hour after winding. I'm just going to send mine back to the dealer to take care of.

I have a similar problem as OP, and to answer your question, yes. I can can hear it spinning like mad. Sounds like a 21j.

Could be a couple of things causing this. If you don't know how to fix it yourself best send it to a watchsmith.

So the tab and the screw fell out when you took off the case back? - that was your problem!

Replace the tab and screw - at the 10 minute marker just above crown - using the other one for reference as to orientation/placement. You'll need a small screw driver and tweezers.

When re-installing the tab and screw make sure to check that the rotor can move freely and is not obstructed by the screw head, its an error that can easily be made then you havent done this stuff before

I also "cover" the balance wheel with the rotor to prevent the screw or the tab falling into it....has happend once and it can easily damage the balance wheel if something gets stuck inside and you try to remove it with tweezers.
