Thanks for the video. I can't believe it took 4 hours to take it apart. Great camera work with the zooming in and all that.

great vid. it is great practice. the first thing i did for practice was buy a 20$ datejust from ebay and take it apart. it wasnt running when i got it so it never started after i put it all back together. you find out after working on any automatic watch, 6498 and 6497 are easy as pie to assemble and disassemble

Does anyone know what sort of camera/webcam was used for this video, quality is really good. And I would like a way to record my own watch mechanics

I don't know that camera but I recommend Logitech C910 webcam for its full hd, manual zoom, focus and macro ability.

the Camera I used is a Microsoft HD, but my is a 3 years old model, so, they might have a more modern one, but it does a great Job with close up, i will also recommend to buy a 300x Microscope webcam, is around $20-$30 amazon, and it does help for really nice close up to inspect work or record, but no in HD

P.S> that was my first watch, im more experience in taking the watch apart and do basic maintenance, im now doing chronos Swiss Only Movement and Japanese, i got also recorded those but i have not yet edited to load them up.

You should upload those. There's a big lack of decent movement disassembly/reassembly videos. It would be especially useful to see some with the common replica movements (2813, ST6 etc.)

come on Hector...Poker's right. There is a severe shortage of assemble/dissemble video, especially for the keyless works. I'm about ready to practice this on a couple of old pieces but there's nothing but still photos as a guide.

Post those videos, dude..

Well, thats the only record i got of a replica, the rest are gen brands mostly mechanicals, omega's day/ date cal's 710/2012/ 2010/ seiko chrono bullhead, landeron chronos 14x and 15x calibers, Venus chrono 188, ETA 2836, 2892-2, i got a a Gen IWC FLIEGER WITH A 7750 I'm thinking of taking it appart, but ive have at least 2 more weeks of heavy duty work at my office that i cant sit until the end of march to start working on my watches.

If you want to see one of those let me know i will have to edit and upload.

If you wish, i can do the disassembly of a replica that you want, if you send it to me i can guarantee my work and for free, i will contribute to the HD quality disassembly video, i got the necessary good quality tools to handle most regular watch movement. I have disassembly aprox over 70 movements and i own around 50 movement that I've been practicing do for repair or service, and thats just for learning purpose and they are gen swiss movement and japanese, no replicas or cheap movement, so i take it to the next level of handling these movement specially that they are collectibles.

Once the movement disassembly is done i will return back the watch within 48-72 hours, offcourse shipping cost will be cover by watch owner.

I thinks is a good idea, what you guys think, or is too much complication? If the watch value is not more than $100.00 +/- I take full responsibility of the watch.

let me see if I get this correct...you're proposing to disassemble and reassemble a rep that we send to you and record it on video for learning purposes...or are you JUST disassembling it?

Thats correct dissasembley / assambley and send it back.

As long the person sending the watch is honest enought to describe watch cosmetic and working condition because it wouldn't be fair to receive something that has cosmetic damages or working issues and im not aware.

But yea to your first question.
