After over two years of ownership I am still concerned that the incorrect hand stack is a dead giveaway and too much of a tell. When you combine that with a blue color that just isn't precisely like a gen I saw a picture of online and the fact that the color change on the insert may be a millimeter or two off I just don't know if I can continue to wear it.

That's the problem with studying about the reps...once you learn the tells, the watch is never the same to you...

I was being very, very sarcastic. I could care less about the tells, but others.............

How do you find the SEL fit and DW alignment? I do not think the rep band weights the same as the gen, that would put me off immediately, I think gen is the only way to go.

LMAO :)

Let me tell you this: I know pretty much about reps, especially Panerai and AP in a lesser degree but I would never call you out on not having the CHS. I don't know what the correct order is, either do 95% of the Rolex owners probably

I've been looking for a good local watchmaker for a while, you know, the veteran type for my vintage gens. The Breitling I got yesterday needed a new crystal gasket, so, I decided to search for a local guy to fix it. After going to a few shops, I walked into this small shop in the capital. Since I walked in, the place gave me such a good vibe. After explaining & handing the watch over to the lady, she disappeared into the back and I waited for the longest 6 minutes ever. She came back and said that the watchmaker had a gasket for it, but, that it'll take a day to installed since he needed to finish some other watches, no prob. Before leaving, this Bulova catches my eye. I inquired into it. The watchmaker came out and we talked for quite a while about it. It had just been serviced and it was selling for nothing. After some small haggling, this baby came home with me. That's not the important part to me, what's important is the friendship that has just begun with two great watchgeeks. This guy is special because of that.

Awesome pick, and great start on what could be an invaluable relationship.

One question, what is the depth rating?

I don't want to say what I think I see.

Tuesday sees the reemergence of the 'shitty Breitling" I purchased from a mate "Down Under" a while ago. Nice & heavy, with a very attractive shark bracelet, this "interesting" SuperOcean is a very enchanting wear. dave:

That's a beast Dave!
When you get tired of wearing it, you can just hang it on the wall.
