Is there a problem with the hour hand as you have 2 pics showing 10 o’clock and the hour hand is lagging in one and too far ahead in the other!?

Had the same issue on my SD43.

Easy fix for a watchmaker (misaligned hands)

First of - great stuff! Photos are abundant and good quality. Thumbs up for that!

In addition to the misaligned hands, the 12 o'clock marker is slightly tilted. The bottom on the marker/triangle is not centered. It might be just the illusion of the light though. Can you share more photos to clear that?

As I will keep my GMT unmodded, it seems ARF is the better OOTB so far, isn'it? thank you for sharing all these info, love the rep world :)

Yeah misaligned hands is a pressing issue so easy for me to do but this is not what I’m saying here buddy. In this case it shows the hour hand ahead and behind whereas the 24 hour hand remains correct on both pics. Badly pressed hands will always be the same margin out of sync but not both ways like this one.

hmmm, dont think so. The hour hand 10 lines up and all 3 hands line up precisely at 12 when date changes.

Don’t know if it makes a difference, but this date pics with the crown out I had not yet set the GMT hand.

I see what you guys mean, but the hands are aligned perfectly.

To clarify, on a non GMT movt that would be misaligned hands. On a GMT the hour hand moves independently of the minute hand to set the date. On those date pics with the crown pulled out I was cycling just the hour hand to take DW pics for guys; in this setting (position 2) the minute and GMT hand do not move.

He must have been using the jumping hand in the unscrewed crown pic, sometimes the hand won’t align properly while jumping, even in the gens, that could be the reason

Good job, brother. I’ve been trying to stay out of this thread because I’m trying to slow down on buying just a little before the holidays but I had to finally check it out. After seeing your pics and review, I don’t know if I can stay away anymore.

As I scrolled through, I think I started to click :like: :like: :like: on every post. Figure it’s better to just tell you in person that you did a great fvcking job. As usual. Awesome pics.

Wow... gen xtal and (maybe) DW and this is basically NWBIG, especially at current gen prices.

Thanks for the thread and pics- I’m sold!

It does appear the hour hand is about 12-13 minutes slow but the 24hr hand is fine. It’s just a matter of removing and refitting the hands more precisely.
It’s watch is impressive though and would pass in many circles as gen. a very good effort from arf. Gen crystal date wheel and done for me.

Excellent review and wonderful pics. Well done!
If they nail a BLNR bezel insert I just may have to "trade in" my GMF ICHS ....
Next decision: get the BP rootbeer with the DG3804 or wait for one of these ....

Sorry if I’m not getting your point. Why would you remove and set an hour hand on a movement where the hour hand is independently adjustable via the crown?

The hour hand is not properly aligned. It needs to be adjusted on the pinion

The hands have not been fitted precisely in sync with each other. When the hour hand is on the hour the minute hand has already passed 12 o’clock and is around 12-13 minutes past at that point. It has nothing to do with setting the hands as it will always be that much out until the hands are removed and reset! Can’t say it any simpler really.

Sorry gents, what you’re referring to does not apply to GMT movements with independent hour hand adjustment...unless the hour hand is actually misaligned at the pinion, which this is not.

I’d worry more about this...actually would reject it. I’m sure someone ask but can you do video on how the movement moves?
