Definetly the best stock arf dj41mm DW...thickness is same like gen on all numbers..you can just swap crystal and you are good to go

Yep, that is another thing that was driving me nuts
what is wrong with the crystal? most complains from the last 100 pages were about the DW thickness

I say..as you dont need to change DW you can upgrade it with crystal but not necessarily
There is nothing "wrong" about the ARF crystal it just don't look exactly like gen that has clearer cyclops eith a white halo ring around it, also magnifies the DW in a more correct (gen) way. Although ARF crystal is good.
No need for gen crystal if you're not a hardcore geek like some of us.

I am thinking of acquiring this watch, but the font of the datwheel makes me hesitate. Acquiring the ARF v3, then a Gen DW, paying a watchmaker to install it, etc. So much money and time. Maybe it's easier to wait for someone to sell their Franken in the Sales section.
How likely do you think it is that ARF will update the datewheel, with the correct font?

Not soon cause they just updated it. But I think it worth buying the arf v3 and then gen dw and crystal, then replace it with a watchmaker. A gen one cost like 10 000 $ and doing this cost like 1 500 $.
Gen DW= about 150 USD
Gen crystal= about 350 USD
Modding for this shouln't cost more than 200 USD

I was one of those hopeful people when I purchased my ARF Dj 41 that the datewheel would be better. I had planned that if QC pics showed bold font that I would approve if everything else was fine. Well the font was bold and I ended up receiving the watch wore it for 2 min and sent it out for a DW and Gen Xtal replacement. Let me tell you, I got it back 2 days ago and the Gen DW look so elegant compared to the stock ARF and the Crystal is like going from 1080p to 4K resolution. To me it was worth the extra price and time. But remember this is my personal opinion.
