AR coating

With all these great Breitling Reps out there why can noone get the most tell tale sign of a breitling rep fixed, the AR coating. You can easily tell a Gen Breitling from 5 feet away by the double AR coating the face has a whole different look to it, almost like there is nothing covering the dial. I knoe the Panerai crystals are AR coated why can the Breitlings not get the same treatment. On that note is there anyway we can get a crystal coated and than reinstalled? Just seems like such a major flaw would be addressed.

newer breits navitimer rep has Ar coating too... If you're an expert. You still can tell the difference in colour and coating intensity between the rep and the gen breit.

Yes, there is a big difference. One of my attorneys has a Breitling Emergency and there is an OBVIOUS difference! And I must say WOW, what a watch!

Did you ever go up to his Emergency and unscrew that bottom knob and break the wire. LOL its like a $20,000 charge used only if your plane goes down or your lost on some island. Man those people on Lost would be saved if only 1 person had a Breitling. And who said watches can't save lives.

He told me that he had to sign some papers of understanding in order to buy it.
He said he purchased it outside the US. I had to inspect it at that point & it is the real deal!

Yeah... The rep Breitling Emergency is a JOKE. I have seen the genuine too. It belongs to one of the TV Producer back in my hometown. He does reality TV show. The awe factor is there.

I've mentioned this story on a thread somewhere around here but I'll give part of it again.

You could say that I Leaped or Jumped across the conference room table and grabbed his arm and said
holy shit! He was just as excited because I knew what it was. He said he has not had one person know what
kind of watch he was wearing and he had been wearing it for more than a year.
The subject quickly changed from litigtaion to what else...... Watches!

Wel if someone can get me a double AR coated crystal for my Breitling Bentley chrono i would happy pay good money for it. To me that is one of the biggest inaccuracys of the watch. Come on i know there is some watch guru out there that cna make this happen.

You've to remove the crystal from the case first. Approach your local optician. He/she may do it for you. Not expensive IMHO.

I own a few Breitling gens and the AR coat is almost overdone IMO. It is an easy spot on reps for trained eyes, but not your average joe.

Ok now how hard is it to remove a crystal. Again your talking to someone who has only sixed the bracelet, never have taken anything like this appart. Not afraid just dont wanna ruin anything.

Then it's best to send it to a watchsmith. If you are in the US, you may wish to contact vacuum. Breitling is one of the brand that heavily uses AR coating on the crystal. Next is Omega.

I don't think it is something you should try then. Maybe find a rep friendly watchsmith to take it off for you.

Now when going to an optician is there a certain type of AR or are they all the same. I heard somewhere on here that there are 2 colors they can use. Is the double AR a good idea, coating on both sides? Im suprised noone has had this done, i guess i got to much time on my hands.

Yes 2 colours. 1 is bluish purplish, the other one is greenish (like in the case of my old omega SMP). Breitling use the bluish purplish type. I am sure someone has done this but never post picture of the end result
