Hi,

I have a APSF 15703, love the watch, it wears really nice and looks amazing.

I don’t like the movement at all, just the way it winds - it’s very sloppy and the date change is slow and not instant.

I have a 2 gen Tag Heuer movements- a Calibre 5 and 7. Does anyone know if either of these movements will fit the 15703 and take the hands, winder and date wheel?

If not is there a better movement out there?

Thanks for any help.

You mean either the 2824 or 2836 movement. I don’t think any rep uses the 2826 movement.
My personal favorite movement for closed back divers is the low beat 2836 movement. Reliable like you mentioned and also you get the instant date change feature. Bingo.

I have this watch. Love the way it looks and wears. I'm having an issue with moving time forward. I'm not sure I want to tackle it and look into the issue. The keyless may have an issue. Like you said, it's sloppy, but damn does it look good.

Thanks for this info. Would the 2836 movement fit the 15703? And take the APSF date wheel?
I’ve found a few 2836 movements for sale, fairly cheap too that I’m going to purchase I they will work.
Ive read a few threads so far, just can’t seem to fine any for the 15703.

Thanks 👍

It really is a good looking watch, currently wearing mine on an orange Midas strap and love it.
Just the movement that bothers me.
Good luck with sorting yours.👍

The APSF 15703 typically comes with the Miyota 9015 or a similar Asian automatic movement. Unfortunately, swapping in a TAG Heuer Calibre 5 or 7 isn’t straightforward. These movements are generally not compatible with the APSF 15703 case, as the Calibre movements are designed for specific TAG cases and will likely have different dimensions, mounting points, and rotor configurations. The hands, date wheel, and winder also wouldn't be compatible without significant modification.

If you’re looking for a better movement with smoother winding and a quicker date change, I’d recommend considering a Swiss ETA movement like the 2824-2 or 2892-A2. Both are well-regarded for their reliability, smooth winding, and solid date-change functionality. You might need to get some custom modding done to fit the movement into the case, but it’s a common upgrade for higher-end replicas.

Alternatively, the Miyota 9015 is often seen as a good upgrade from Asian movements, offering smoother winding and a quickset date. Some users swap out the stock movement with Swiss or high-quality Japanese options for better performance.

Thanks for this ⬆️ it answers the Tag movement question. 👍

I will have a look at these movements.

Thanks

If you want a more direct solution, I will recommend you get a diver with the 3120 clone caliber, get it serviced and the keyless refined, and add the instant date change parts. That works as well toward what you wish to achieve with the movement.

Thanks @legend 👍

Which factory sell them with the clone movement?
Is it expensive to buy and fit the instant date change parts?

Thanks

what movement does your watch have right now, a miyota? Or does it already have the clone 3120 movement? It is best this is ascertained lest you spend unnecessary time and money on this project.
If you want to buy one with the clone movement I believe APSF has it. ZF too I believe.

I believe mine has the miyota movement in.
I’ve been a TD site and been looking at the newer APSF 15703 with the steel bracelet, very nice and the movement is a clone 3120. I will probably buy that and do the instant date change mod.
Thanks
